Chef Hatchet Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I hope I'm doing this right, I apologize if I'm not. This is a RPG based off of the Canadian Animated Series 'Total Drama Island'. In this RPG, you make your own camper and have him/her compete in various challenges, interact with other campers, and even possibly win $100,000 if you don't get voted off. (NOTE: There will be no real money given out in this RPG.) There will be 11 Users per "season". That means only 11 users (at least as of now) will be able to join, as there's my character and ten returning campers from the show. Other submissions will be considered for the next "season". RETURNING CAMPERS: Gwen, Owen, Leshawna, DJ, Duncan, Courtney, Izzy, Cody, Heather, and Harold. Please be aware that there might be suggestive themes and mild language in this RPG, as there is in the show. CHARACTER FORM: Name: Age: Gender: Looks: Personality: Likes: Dislikes: Bio: From: Known for: Why TDI?: EXAMPLE: Name:Rho Age:14 Gender:Male Looks:Tall, Black Hair with long bangs, Black t-shirt with a red unzipped jacket over it Personality:Wise, sarcastic, kind Likes:Humor, Relaxing, Music Dislikes:Annoyances, Stupidity, Rap Music Bio:Rho was heavily annoyed throughout school, being known all over his schools. Once entering High School, he tried to make himself less "popular" by rarely speaking. From: America Known for:Correcting his teachers, Creativity Why TDI?:He wanted to get away from America for once, and he wants the $100,000. RULES: -No overly suggestive content -No severe swearing. Words like "crap" are fine. (NOTE: "hell" is fine too. It's not listed as a swear word, since it isn't one.) -No godmodding. No, you may not murder Heather. -Use IC and OOC. -Have fun.
Shadows Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I hope I'm doing this right, I apologize if I'm not. You're not. Two problems. First, games need to be approved by the staff before beginning and second, they go in the LEGO Wargames and Mafia Games Forum where I will move this post for now. Being a new member to the site, it's unlikely that we would approve a game from you at this point. I would suggest spending some time here getting to know how the site runs, the kind of members we have and the things that interest them, then if you still think it's a good idea, submit your idea to the staff for consideration. Thanks!
Sandy Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I thought only contests with prices needed approval from the staff... Why would you want to restrict this type of harmless games that are only meant to pass time, anyway? But as for the game idea itself, I find one major problem with it: it's based on a show that's only familiar to Canadian people. That's why it's futile to have "returning contestants" (who aren't played by anybody, if I understood you correctly), because the majority of the users don't have any idea who these people are. If you based your game on Survivor, it would be a different thing, but this setting is a bit too unknown to interest me...
Hinckley Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I thought only contests with prices needed approval from the staff... Why would you want to restrict this type of harmless games that are only meant to pass time, anyway? Thank you for your input, but like other things on the site, if we let this get out of control it would create a lot of work for our staff. Since this does happen on our boards, our staff does have to monitor it and if we didn't schedule these out, we'd eventually have a ridiculous amount of games running concurrently that would burn our staff out. So, please wait for approval and scheduling through the staff...
Zepher Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Yeah, not matter HOW LONG it takes for the staff to get back to you, you should still wait. Not a bad idea though. I've seen the show.
samthelegoman1 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 But as for the game idea itself, I find one major problem with it: it's based on a show that's only familiar to Canadian people. It comes in American also.
