Hi all,

I finally got around to photograph these - they are each about a year old...

and

They were first built for an event almost a year ago, and have been used in various displays since!

Gallery is here, after moderation.

What do you think?

I really like the white and orange one. It looks classy and fast. I really like the bulky engines. If I have a complaint at all it is I would have used a white nose instead of a black.

I am not to sure about the red one though. I just don't like the red dish on top. It looks, well, funny to me. It does have an almost bird like look to it that I enjoy though. Very space friendly.

Thanks for the comments -

I put in the black on the orange and white ship as an anti-glare panel, which are on many planes. This ship reminds me of trainer jets, as they had the same color scheme.

The red ship is a scout and the dish is a radar array - and yes it's odd:-) - but this is a high speed scout that needs the array to take readings. The red and white is the color scheme I like the most, mainly because it's my high school and college colors.

The more I look at'em, the more I like'em.

I'm more for airtight-looking canopies, where the clear windscreens go behind bricks or down into bricks, but the rest of the design on both more than make up for it.

The studs atop the nose of the red ship bug me to no end. And adding either a 2x2 flat tile or other modified smooth brick would look weird there, as the canopy arcs too quickly to make it look airtight. Worse yet, the canopy extends too close to the edge of the ship to allow for something on the sides of it... making anything placed in front look even more odd.

Still, a minor quibble amongst the rest of the awesomeness surrounding it. The X-Pod borders used as plane radars used in modern aircraft comes off REALLY well. And red & white mocs ALWAYS come off powerfully.

Those are really good. Far superior to any endeavor in space I've ever made. I like the simplicity of the look despite the impressive amounts of SNOT.

God Bless,

Nathan
