Dreamweb Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 Currently Broadside is winning here and the Clipper is winning in the favourite non-pirate ship poll... It's worth celebrating. Quote
Sting Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I rooted for the soliders because they just looked cooler. I always thought lego could make the pirates look more cool than they did. Captain Redbeard seemed pretty ineffective as a fighter with his Peg Leg and all. A worthy commander, no doubt, but he couldn't have a swordfight against any 2 legged, 2 handed Imperial officer or even a lesser pirate with both arms. But thats just me. I voted for Broadside. Blockhouse was a wimp, as seen in the Canadian Catalog for 1993(the year the Imperial Trading Post come out I believe) (Blockhouse is hiding (or drinking...) in one of the storage rooms as Pirates storm up the ramp) Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 I remember a TV commercial of Lego Pirates in which Broadside ended up in shark's jaws, a fact I didn't like - hey, it suggested the kids that Pirates should win and the good guys should die! Anyway, the commercial was great, I'd love to see it again (I had it recorded on a videocasette for some time), any ideas where I can see it? :) Quote

As a kid I always loved the magazine pics (they were beautiful back then) but hated the pirates always winning... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Flatfoot Thompsen Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) It was hard for me to choose between Captain Roger/ Red Beard and Captain Ironhook, but I came up with Captain Ironhook for... well, his ironhook! Edited April 22, 2008 by Flatfoot Thompsen Quote
Grakul Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 King Kahuka is my choice. He´s got the coolest hat, the fanciest weapon and the most dedicated soldiers. Quote
Island boy Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Just a quick reminder: Governor Broadside Admiral Woodhouse Captain Roger / Red Beard Captain Ironhook King Kahuka (all minifigs come from my collection except for Kahuka whom I don't own so I scanned his image from 1994 catalogue) The base for your choice may be anything you want - which of them is the most good-looking, has the best ship, is in the best sets and so on. King kauka is the best character there is Quote
Zorro Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Admiral Woodhouse, seconded by Governor Broadside, thirded by king Kahuka. I like the torso/bicorne/plume combination of Woodhouse a lot, and since I am a fan of the Napoleonic-era, I must put the Blue- and Redcoat commanders on top. just following my conscience here... Shoc Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I even made a smiley of him... Yay! The Islanders are my favourites in the Pirate theme, and King Kahuka is just so stylish! :skull: Quote
Lego12 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 My favorite was Captain Roger/Red Beard! He was the best! I have his legs and face, but not his torso.... Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 This is probably the only commercial that has the Imperials winning! Quote
Voodoo Hand Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 i choose Captain Roger / Red Beard. Why? he is the only one wher eu can do more with then the rest! Quote
Zorro Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 i choose Captain Roger / Red Beard. Why? he is the only one wher eu can do more with then the rest! I actually made a German freecorps out of them. In the napoleonic age, that is, in let's say a month I will post the pics of my completed Napoleonic army, if I received all my Bricklink order by then, that is... Quote
Admiral BrickFin Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Voted for Broadside, for sentimental reasons. He came in my first set: CC, still have him (still in good condition!). Quote
Captain Roger Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 i'd like to vote to Captain Brickbeard, but isn't in the list so i vote for Roger/redbeard I like Broadside and woodhouse too, but i like pirates more to soldiers. I don't like Ironhook so much because is less powerful than Roger and isn't as neat. About Hakuka...i have never been a huge islander subtheme fan. Quote
Jack Bricker Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 (edited) I have to say Captain Redbeard is my favorite. I have always loved his outfit. Edited September 12, 2010 by Jack Bricker Quote
