Cutty Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 So folks! TLC has announced plans for continuing the Viking line after it became clear it was a hit. What are your wishes for the future of our favourite "alternative fantasy-pirates" (^.^) line? Mine would be as followed: 1. - More variety in helmets, preferably historical correct (Playmobil did a considerably good job at some of their helmets for their respective Vikings) 2. - Females! Houses! Village! Children! (and continuing depiction of culinary excesses! More beer-kegs and turkey-roast!) 3. - An opposing faction, or at least a new minifig based threat (Trolls? Dwarves?) with the occasional myth-monster thrown in (Kraken anyone? Ice-giants?). Beer laden greetings, Cutty Quote
MattZitron Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Definately want more monsters and female vikings. AND Beards AND hammers!!! Quote
prateek Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 umm more monsters and maybe thor and the other gods Quote
SuvieD Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Vikings were all about the sagas. I would love to see them make one of those. It would also be nice to see -new monsters -female vikings -some minifig sized non-humans, like Cutty was talking about I would really like to see the vikings move into the exploration and settling more so than fighting. It would be nice to have a thatched homestead, a elk hunt with dogs, viking festival with bonfire meat roasts games and contests, and maybe even a survival set with a viking ship trapped in ice and the viking must battle it out with a monster or something. As far as new pieces are concerned I would like to see -double braided beard (could be used for dwarves, or in town sets) -spiral rams horn (used for drinking and for sounding signals, could be used to make minifig sized rams also) -a more traditional helmet -a war hammer like in the early mock-ups -wings like the horns for helmets so we can have Thor and warrior madiens (these could also be used to make a hermes minifig if LEGO ever does Greek mythology, to make brick built birds or for decorations on buildings/fountains) {these would need to face backwards not straight out like the horns do though} Quote
gylman Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 A more complex build for the big set. Maybe something that can be combined with the "castle" from this year, to make something more impressive. Quote
languages Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 More monsters A village and NEW WEAPONS!........... Quote
Beagle Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Not to be a whiner, but I think they should phase out the KK swords in the Viking line. Actually they should just phase them out altogether, unless they're planning on some sort of "Space Knights" theme.... they just look too sci-fi. They'd look great in a futuristic feudal theme, but they're woefully misused in a medieval or viking theme. Bring back old-style swords! Oh, and yeah, some domestic Viking villages would be nice. :-D Quote
DoubleT Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Well sets with scenes and "God's" from the nordic mythlogy would be great.... Tyr vs Fenris Thor vs Midgard Thor vs Loke A Freja set, in a nice castle Valhalla fortress, where Vikings are festing and having a great time... And it should come with Odin and his two Crows ;) I can think of more so Lego Call me ;) Fenris and Midgard have bin sets, but they could be rerelased he he Quote
Assassin Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I got two copies of the fort, I used the second one to lengthen the side walls, with the side walls being longer, I moved the small tower to one end of the center section and put a small tower from the second set at the other end of the center section. Any spare log parts left over I intend to use to build the jail/cage contraption into a wooden keep, I might even get a third one to make sure I have enough log parts. When it's all finshed, the "barbarian" Bull knights will finally have a castle, Quote
Hinckley Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I'm not authorized to start a new topic, but I found this today. LEGO vikings available in the states at amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/brows...7349503-8086228 --Mark Quote
