Dennimator Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Well yea, the impulses are common in Sweden, every toy shop and supermarket have them. Quote
daxflame680 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Yeah, I saw that at my local TRU. Never seen those being sold in TRU before. I guess it has to do with the holidays coming up. Quote

mania3 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Does anyone know why the impulse sets seem to be easier to find in European markets? I'm curious what the mentality is behind this. Quote
The Brick Rat Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 i saw these impluse set at walmart:troll warrior coast grad kayak crysal hawk street sweeper anyboby else seen these out other places beside lego shop at home I haven't seen them at Walmart, but I have seen them at Target. They are located in the Christmas section with the stocking stuffer toys. TRU also has them, but marked-up to $4.99. Quote
BlueBard Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 It really depends on the countries... For example in Spain the Impulse sets are not available at all (or only in very specialised shops... ) Anyway, speaking about that with a toy-seller from Madrid, friend of mine, he told me that the "availability" of Lego depends on the main interest of the country's market. So, I suppose there's more swedish Lego fans than spanish or english ones... Quote
mania3 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 So, I suppose there's more swedish Lego fans than spanish or english ones... As I recall, the largest market for LEGO on earth is Germany, followed by the United States. Quote
The Cobra Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Does anyone know why the impulse sets seem to be easier to find in European markets? I'm curious what the mentality is behind this. The newest Impulse sets (5618~5621) are still to be sighted in Italian shops. Quote
Guss Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 there is a lot of these set in Swiss supermarket ! Don't really understand why you don't see these Quote
mania3 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 there is a lot of these set in Swiss supermarket ! Don't really understand why you don't see these The only time I see them is at official LEGO brand stores, or Legoland itself. As far as major retailers go (Target, Wal-Mart, TRU) I never see them. It's a shame too, I would probably buy one every time I was at the store, too. Take The Good Wizard set from the Fantasy Era Castle line. It was never released in the US at all. I'd still really like to get my hands on one, too. Quote
Athos Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Were they in the Lego aisle or somewhere else? Was this in a US Walmart? Are there Walmarts outside the US? Steve Quote
UsernameMDM Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I haven't seen them at Walmart, but I have seen them at Target. They are located in the Christmas section with the stocking stuffer toys. Is this by all the Christmas decorations, or up front with by the 1$ aisle? Quote
mr.fledermaus Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Is this by all the Christmas decorations, or up front with by the 1$ aisle? All Target stores in my area have the impulse sets by the food section, where there is an aisle devoted to cheap Christmas-related items. Quote
Eskallon Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I have seen a load of city impulse sets in tesco and they are always there they are priced £2.50-£3.00 normally £2.75 though. (british currency) Quote
Omega 8 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Is this by all the Christmas decorations, or up front with by the 1$ aisle? Actually in the candy/food area. Quote
daxflame680 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) They've started selling 5612 Policeman and 5613 Firefighter at TRU Edited November 25, 2008 by daxflame680 Quote
Trexxen Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hey, anyone that goes to Target often, any chance you could update us when they get in the Pirate impulses? I'd love to build an army, but I need impulses to do that cheaply (I'm not too interested in an army of Pirates, though I plan to buy several Cannon Battles anyways for the - you guessed it - cannons...) ~Trexxen Quote
