Algernon Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I posted those before. Look nice don't they? I like all of them except the truck thing. FIRST TOYFAIR COVERAGE! Edited February 15, 2009 by Algernon Quote
Asuka Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Anybody else noticing something that looks like a minifig chained on the back of Pliskin's speeder in the Galactic Enforcer set? It also looks like it has a head sculpt, I dunno what it is. He he... here in this pic it looks like that baddie depedestalled a statue of a Classic Space MF... It seems like there´s a small policebot with skelly feet in the cockpit of the Galactic Enforcer... Quote

Jila Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Sorry...but I haven't understood...the cops are black or grey? Nice the white statue!! Quote
Asuka Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I don't understand that statue at all... It seems like some really solid and ironic (or even cynical?) LEGO humor... the King is dead, long live the King! Quote

Skinny Boy Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Huhhh even more great stuff we can't have till next year That container set would work for so many things Quote
user Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I'm just too glad about the variety to be honest, though Lego really dropped the ball on including Cyclops in the Cargo Escape set and the impulse. They changed him now the "cyclops" has 8 eyes! Quote
djmangunz Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 In my humble opinion, this is the best looking original series by Lego. Period. If I wasn't already planning on dropping mad coin on the new LAAT/c, I would cop some of these sets. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I agree, this is the most original LEGO series in many years. I hope "Squidman", who looks like a frog, is really going to be green and they are just using a prototype grey head. Quote
mania3 Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Bahhh, finally. These look better than I expected. What a great array of alien figures! They turned out pretty impressive in the end. Though, as someone just stated, I do hope some of the colors are preliminary/prototypes. Quote
Filip Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 At first I thought this was going to be horrible, but those pictures have totally changed my mind. I can't wait for those to come to Sweden. And I just love the aliens, they look hilarious. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 The more I see the more I'm sad we won't be seing these in the UK but thus is life. All the aliens look top notch to me and its nice that we get so many new heads in one range. I am a bit confused about the statue that's being towed behind in the galactic enforcer set as isn't he surpose to be chasing the police? Quote
phoinix Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) here is a closeup of the great statue looks nice but whats the point of it being there? (thanx to no-onions from flickr) Edited February 15, 2009 by phoinix Quote
Algernon Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) here is a closeup of the great statue looks nice but whats the point of it being there? (thanx to no-onions from flickr) Dude! It's a statue of classic LEGO Space! I assume the villains are stealing it. My thoughts on the new pictures: The Hyperspeed Pursuit and Gold Heist are by far the best looking sets from SP3 (besides the exclusives, which we have yet to see). The Space Police ships from either set are both fantastic... some of the best original designs LEGO's ever come up with! Check out those engines on the Hyperspeed Pursuit police ship! I have a feeling Nabii is behind these. The Container Heist is probably my least favorite, mostly due to the lack of a SP vehicle, but it's not bad. Even if it is sticker excessive, the decals themselves look GOOD, so I can let that one slide. The Galactic Enforcer appears to include a ground vehicle (woot!) and that dramatically increases it's appeal to me. Talk about a reference to the Galactic Mediator! Despite this I feel like it could have been pulled off a little bit better... the turrets on the wings aren't as cool as I had hoped they would be. I hope this one is a improved a little bit, but I'll probably get it no matter what. The two smaller sets, Freeze Ray Frenzy and Squidman Escape, look brilliant. Freeze Ray Frenzy more so. I love the stop sign and stop light- AWESOME touch there. The cop space bike is amazing as well. I will end up getting both of these. Overall, this is a dramatic return for LEGO Space! Everything looks great, from the minifigs, to the aesthetics, to the construction! Well done LEGO! Well done indeed! Edited February 15, 2009 by Algernon Quote
Gnewal Gwevus Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I'm guessing spike stole it from a mueseum of former space travelers (clasic space Lol) and then noticed his bud plisken was taken by the POPO so he starten shooting the Enforcer... Quote

Looks like it includes a large gun and equipment rack. I see some of the classic walkie talkies there. It's also good that everything is trans-dark blue again. Quote
Algernon Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Ah, interesting... it seems like that little rover fits in as well... nice! The interior alone might convince me to buy this set, even if it will be $99. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 It's official, I love this theme! The minifigs are so fun, and the vehicles look lovely as well. Great to see that the GE has at least some interior. I'm glad to see that the prices are quite resonable, It's a great year for LEGO Space! Quote

I guess LEGO is busy ripping off those poor Star Wars fans. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 OMFG.... all I can say is.... I'm Buying ALL of them baybee, WOOOH Quote

Actually no, look at the Farm sets. I think LEGO is ripping off the fans of the more classic lines like City and Castle. The new themes, SP and PM, seem to be much cheaper. Quote
