Asuka Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 And AFOLs say Lego doesn't care about them, that is hilarious. The designer of that wonderful Squidman moonbase module, Tim Ainley, works, from what I know, as play themes designer for TLC... Quote
Algernon Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 You know what I noticed? The Galactic Enforcer has a light-blue cockpit now, instead of dark blue... but that's it. All of the other sets still have dark blue cockpits. Even the secondary cockpit on the Enforcer is still dark blue. I wonder if it's a mistake? Quote

But if not, I can still live with the two different blues. In all honesty it would bug the living hell out of me if they kept that for the final design. Why only make ONE cockpit a different color?? But you're right, I too think it's likely that it'll switch back to the original color, which worked oh-so-much better. Quote
Moose Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 the way the two different color windshields would bug you, algernon, is the same way the aviator helmets bug me. and im not the kind of person that orders extra parts to add onto sets, i like to keep them as is, so the fact that the helmets are enclosed takes away some of the appeal for me. i hope you understand what i was trying to say, i dont want to look like some kinda whiney baby. Y'know how people are all 'don't judge on preliminary pics'? Listen to them. We've already seen the Galactic Enforcer with a normal TransBlue windshield, and this catalogue also has a green Dr. Inferno and an Agent Trace wearing a white shirt with DECO scrawled on it. I just wanted to post after Moose. :) Edited February 13, 2009 by Iron Moose Quote

I understand; the helmets bug me too, but I just don't mind them as much as you (since when has LEGO obeyed the laws of physics?). A consistent color scheme, though, is different entirely. Arbitrarily switching cockpit hues is just ridiculous. But I realize these are preliminary. Quote

Those colors don't work at all IMO, but it's hard to say whether those images are more recent or the earlier ones we had. Quote

It's hard to say but I think it's the same color as the new one. Now look at the actual set: Sounds to me like a simple mistake. Edited February 13, 2009 by Hinckley Quote
Spacefan Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I think the bottom pic of the actual set should look ALOT more reassuring to all of us, its probably the most recent that was taken. Anyway, Toy Fair New York is next week, and we should expect our clearest and most definitive glimpse yet of these sets. Quote
SuvieD Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 To everybody complaining about open helmets: Are we forgetting the most acclaimed Space sets in LEGO history? Meh, those figures were crap too in my opinion. Futuron, Blacktron, and Space police are the real classic space. Quote

There's a simple answer to that; the top image was made before they started producing the dark trans blue Slave I window pieces. Quote

hewkii9 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I'm cheesed off that the Twins appear to only be in one of the larger sets, as I want those helmets so badly... Quote
Batbrick Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I'm cheesed off that the Twins appear to only be in one of the larger sets, as I want those helmets so badly... I'm just too glad about the variety to be honest, though Lego really dropped the ball on including Cyclops in the Cargo Escape set and the impulse. If you have a larger set then you always are meant to have a special fig in it to draw customers. I can't wait to get my hands on these figs though. Squidman looks fantastic especially with his revised colours. The twins are scarily awesome, and that four armed thing is another must have. Spike's helmet would look great in the Orc armies too. Batbrick Away! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 (edited) man this is going to be awesome, I'm making mocs already! I think that it's good that gasmask apears in the impulse, now I will be able to make cyclops guards, and build a mighty army. Okay (not ok-ey) maybe NOT an ARMY, but at least I'll have alot of guards. he also seems like the least distinctive of all of them. maybe it would've been better for those of you building an orcish army if spike was in the impulse but I find it perfectly reasonable... , plus I'm sure spike, and the twins will apear in lesser sets aswell, just like the Agents' Break jaw apeared in 3 sets! Algernon Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 At least the Twins are in one of the better sets. It's not like you're being forced to buy horrible sets for the minifigs. Quote

I totaly agree, I think that that is the best set to date in the new lego police space 3 theme, i probably am gunna get them all. zzzzz, srry I'm half asleep Quote

TheShnomon Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Anybody else noticing something that looks like a minifig chained on the back of Pliskin's speeder in the Galactic Enforcer set? It also looks like it has a head sculpt, I dunno what it is. And where the hell is Spike on that box art? And damn, those Skull Twins look so amazing. I just hope the set is affordable... Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I spied a traffic light in Freeze Ray Frenzy from a ToyFair pic. It's official. This is as close to Lego Grand Theft Auto In Space as we'll ever get. Quote
