Mod: Tahu Nuva

Well, I finally bought the new Tahu Nuva kit today, and as soon as I had built him I tore him apart and redesigned his form and gear. Originaly, I planned to only modify the weapons and chest, but I soon realized that that wouldn't cut it. So, I also modified his limbs and jets, reducing the massive glut of silver and streamlining his form. Here are the results:

Side view of his new weapon, AKA firesword 3.0. I love how I used the blades on his former spinny-shield-thing.

A back view, showing the new arangement of the jets. I originally didn't mind the mecha-jet arangement on the official kit, but once had Tahu in my hands I quickly grew tired with it.

That swords pretty cool... Reminds me of his first one. The "glut of silver", though, is stilll there. And the Nuva armor on his chest is a little small to use on a Piraka torso.

The lesser amount of silver does make Tahu look a lot better, although I disagree with the use of the red/orange fire - it doesn't suit the crimson red well.

I know there's still a fair amount of silver, but there's far less than on the original kit. Now it just looks like armor on his body, instead of BEING the main color of his body.

The main reason I used that piece is because it's supposed to simulate fire, not an actual part of the sword's construction. In real life, if Tahu was not using his fire sword, the fire would disappear and only the handle and silver pieces would remain.

Where'd you get the red-orange firesword?

It's been in a few kits - I got mine from the Exo-Force Golden Tower Attack set. I kinda wish they had used this piece on the original Tahu Mata - it would have looked far better than plain red.
