Nice rundown showing the evolution of the minifig.

"We have worked with Lego to painstakingly collect and catalog almost every minifig ever produced into a photographic timeline. You will be able to see the evolution of the iconic figure, from the very first sets in the 70s that you saw in our exclusive tour of the secret historic Lego vault to the latest and greatest ones in 2008. Sensory overload ahead.

1978

Introduction of the first minifigs as part of the Town, Space and Castle sets. They are all plain. The first female minifig is introduced two months after the first male minifigs...."

I'm disappointed, I was hoping to see a timeline showing every single minifig in the order of month/year of release. That would be impressive, just because of the number of them and rarity of some. There are loads missing from this one.

Same here, I wish this was more thorough. I would have liked to see promo minifig information, such as the golden C-3PO (although I already know about it, but there might be other promos), and other minifigs that made history, like magnets.

I think it’s very good, trying to do it month by month would rise questions about release dates and so on.

I was thinking more along the lines of either January, May or August like it used to say in the catalogues. It would be very hard to get exact dates and i'm not that much of a completist. I didn't even see M-Tron in that list!
