Ronan Nissen Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I was wondering is it possible to change your username because I regret having my real name?
Faramir Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Yes, I'm pretty sure it's possible... I seem to remember Tarfful formerly being General Tarful... You should probably talk to an admin about this, they're the only ones who can make it happen.
SupremeCommmanderGrievous Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I might be wrong, but I believe you can ask a staff member to change it for you if you have a good reason.
Lego12 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Yes you can...my username used to be lego12. Then I asked a certain Admin *cough* Walrus *cough* to change it to Lego12. Of course my username doesn't have bold letters in it, I just wanted to point out that it got capitilized. So, I didn't get a huge username change, but it still chnged, right?
Joey Lock Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) You can, Hinckleys name has changed plenty of times. Hinckley HINCKLEY Hinckley #%&*!!@ Hinckley hinckley39 I think most Admins may have changed there name. I dont know wheter im allowed to post that Edited October 30, 2008 by Joey Lock
Darth_Legois Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I dont know wheter im allowed to post that It will be the last post you ever make!!!! MUAHAHAHA! :skull: Jk..... I sortof asked Hinckley [Or did he ask me ] to get rid of the 619 at the end of my name, Thanks Hinckley btw
VBBN Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 As long as you have a valid reason, they will probably change it. But as a normal member, their isn't a way to do it manualy. On a side note, would it be possible to have the "~"s removed from my name? VBBN
JimBee Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 As others have said before, only an Admin can change user names, and only for a good reason. For example, Ras used to be Ras79 (I think...) but decided to change it. By the way, I don't think it would be a good idea to post name change request here, or Santa might decide to not stuff your stockings...
chris_austin Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Just curious, why do you regret using your real name?
Captain Zuloo Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Well, I suppose because it's kinda boring. Some people prefer to use their sigfig's names? I'm not really sure. And anyway, some people don't like to use their real name on the internet. Security reasons etc.
Ronan Nissen Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 Just curious, why do you regret using your real name? Everyone here has a nickname instead of their real name, so it would be better to have a nickname.
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 This topic reminds me: I have to change my name to turn over my account to my brother; things are getting too hectic what with College and stuff.
Captain Zuloo Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Could he not just make a new account so this one is ready for you when you have a chance to use it?
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 (edited) Could he not just make a new account so this one is ready for you when you have a chance to use it? Y'know? I didn't think of that. He's been watching me post for a year or so now and is better than me, I think, so you'll probably not even notice me gone. I think I'll just let him use this account. I'm sure he can make it to Duke faster than I can. Anyways, since I'll still be popping in now and then I'll just give him the password and he can use it. You won't notice I'm gone; he's really good. WhiteFang Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Hello Ronan Nissen, Changing of user name is possible UNLESS you are able to provide a valid reason why you want to do so. In order to do so, seek approval by forwarding a pm with your reason to the admins to inform them the intention for doing so and they will consider the request on a case by case basis. The question had been answered above and I don't intend to see this topic to become a "Request Centre for User Name changes". Thanks. WhiteFang
