Hi all!

Long time reader, first time poster from Bahrain.

I was wondering, since most of the Lego Imperial sets cover most of the empires that dominated the seas in 16th-18th centuries, where there any attempts to construct Ottoman ships, figures and or sea personalities?

Cheers!

Well as you might know too, I have never seen an official attempt to work out such a set.

As such would there be any amateurs who might have attempted such a feet?

Welcome Barbaros!

You must be one of our first members from Bahrain.

The Lego Company only made the typical pirates sets which we all know. I would be happy if they make some Ottoman ships or even an entire Ottoman line.

Maybe some of our members made some MOC's that fall into that category. Do you have a picture of what you'd call a typical Ottoman ship?

Thanks for the warm welcome Bonaparte! And by the way I really like your Pirate and soldiers collection they're way cool!

With regards to how Ottoman ships look like here are some:

I think for building figures there's some stuff available:

- Mamelukes (Napoleonic)

- Brickforge offers now

-- Arabian helmets

-- Turbans

-- Round Shields

-- Weapons

...

Custom Decals are not known to me, but the original lego torso used for Mamelukes can be used for starting new designs ...

With some creativity using the Adventurers Orient Expediction sets, combined with Pirates and maybe some Star Wars, its not too hard to make Ottoman/Arabs. A red or bluecoat with a red or white turban and scimitar makes a good janisarry. The Jedi robe torsos from Star Wars are good for desert robes.

Also: in the MOC index is a Xebec, which was an Ottoman/Arabic warship. Its very accurate too.
