SirNadroj Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 The first in a series of three different Two-Face minifigures I'm working on. Not seamless, no, but hopefully over the course of this project I'll learn some tips on improvement through experience. Thanks! Quote
Pencoin Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Nice, better get rid of that yellow though . Quote
Norrington Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 You cut the new DS Palpatine? I;m dissaponted in you. Looks cool, though. I didn't even know those torsoes exsisted, save the Navy tie-less version from Market Street. Quote
Pickerel Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Looks really good! How movable is the head? Can that left leg bend? It looks pretty stuck, but it could just be me. I thought you already made one Two-Face, what are the two others you've planned besides the old one, and this one? I went into my dark ages because of miniatures around 2003. Nothing can separate me and the brick, so I was soon back (late 2007). In my miniatures years I learned a lot about sculpting and making models, though. There's a product called "Green Stuff" or "Kneadite" that although really expensive, and is as easy to work with as bubble gum or, in my opinion, congealed soup, the finished product is great! This could really help you smooth out the cracks in Two-Face. Note that if you searched for "Kneadite" online you could get it in bulk for a lot cheaper (Games Workshop is pretty pricey ). You also could try sanding some of that super glue with a VERY fine grade of sand paper, smoothing it down a bit. Is there any reason why you don't try making a decal and painting one half of the torso? This way it would be smooth and, like Pencoin pointed out, you'd be able to get rid of that half bit of skin! Hope this helps, Pickerel Quote
pr0visorak Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Its really good, sad though that you had to cut away the new plalpatine. An improvement will be to remove that yellow neck part of the torso. Quote
alexrider7 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I think its basiccly (spelling?) perfect. I'm getting the new death star (shipping!) soon. Just wondering, I'm making a dark knight two face of my own, (completed) and I have dark grey minifig hands. I was wondering where you got the light grey minifig hands. THANKS! alexrider7 Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Wow! That looks great! And no burns, just paint smears! Honestly though, that looks amazing, the only con is you had to cut the new Palpatine head... Now, we just flip a coin to decide weather its really all that good, or if it should be melted into plastic. *Flips coin* Oh. It is that good. I was looking forward to bringing Burnie out... Quote
furious Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 stickers would work. Plus you can reveres stickers. :p Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 This is the one by Tommy Lee Jones, right? I'm informed that that movie sucked? Nice use of Cruncher's head, though! I look forward to the Animated Series version! Quote
natelite Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 nah...i would give him more credit than that. he probably got hold of a keychain version of palpatine. no one would be dumb enough to disect a DS playset palpatine... Quote

No, I'm dumb enough. Bricklink, of course. Though I do own the new DS. Oh well, if it didn't come out like planned, I really don't care; too late now, right? Funny how I could care less but everyone makes a big deal out of it. Quote

But it's yours, you can do what you want with it, but I wouldn't do that to my figs. I'll also take interest in this little project of yours. This first one is good (way better than I could ever do), perhaps you ought to make cleaner cuts (if possible)? I'm sure it would be easier to glue. Would you be willing to tell what you're cutting with? Quote
randomparrot Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 IT's a shame you can see glue etc. but the design works quite well. Quote
