Need help with identifying a couple of pieces

I recently came across these two pieces, which seem to designed to be put together to form a complete picture. Problem is, I can't find out where they come from, can't find them on Bricklink or Peeron, so I turn to EB, maybe someone here can help me solve this mystery. And they are printed, it's not a sticker.

Where exactly did you find this? This was not released by Lego. That must be a private artist that made it.

One of THESE + a sticker? There are some others with different patterns for sale, but those are all stickers, so are you certain it isn't one?

It may be a promotional thing that was given at an event at some point. TLG was giving out the same types of plates with a Lego Universe logo at the Brickfair event this year. (I missed out on them though )

I know these. At Lego cons like BrickCon or Brickfest, the Lego company always attaches two of those pieces, plus a 1x8 tile, and they are custom printed too. I've got like 6 of these from Brickfest and two Lego universe ones from Brickcon. Since they're promotional and only found at cons, they are not on Peeron or Bricklink.

Where did you find these? Did you get them from a friend who went to Brickfest?

Actually, I came across it in Stavanger, Norway, at "Barnas Drømmeby" (Childrens' Dream City). Like other building events, there were quite a few rare/strange parts among all the basic stuff.

I thought it looked like LEGO Universe but Hinckley got to it before me. I am presuming they aren't that uncommon then if they were at Brickworld.

Yeah, I'm really kicking myself for passing it up at Brickfair, especially since they were handed out for free (the type that Copmike posted). They were available at a TLG-staffed booth somewhere on the second day, but I forgot about it that day and the booth had seemingly disappeared by the next (and final) day.
