Dr. X Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 The XF-91 'Boartooth' is the Jackrabbit's big brother. At the cost of a bit of agility it gains a lot in firepower, with four missile tubes under the fuselage, two photon torpedo mounts, and two V9-M heavy laser cannons. While it may not be as pretty or cute as the Jackrabbit, it remains extremely effective and menacing in combat. I built this ship because I felt like it. I know the dark gray area is a bit lumpy, but there's a bunch of offsets and gaps in the frame so it was hard to even get this far. *Apologizes for mixing gray and bley* The overhanging tooth on the nose is where this fighter gets it's nickname from. Top view. This time, a minifig can fit nice and snug in the cockpit. That's all, folks! What do you think of it? -Dr. X Quote
Corvus Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Hmm. Depending on what angle you look at it, this looks like two seperate fighters. From the side, it looks to be more of a light, scout fighter. But then in the last pic, from above, it does look thicker and more powerful. Maybe if you gave it a thicker cockpit? A payload? Bigger "jackrabbit ears" in the back? Otherwise, I like how this looks. I'm not so sure about the spikes, but the cannons are well built and the top view is just Quote
zero1312 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I think it's cool and menacing looking. Quote
Dr. X Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks for the comments! And I never noticed it looked more heavy-duty from the top. Thanks for pointing that out. And I might add bigger tailfins, that's a good idea, but I'll probably never do a new cockpit. Quote
hewkii9 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Very nice! I really like how you used those curved bricks to hold the missiles [are they?] on the wings on. Quote
Dr. X Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks! And they're cannons, by the way. Quote
Guss Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 nice design ! remind me some F zero ship I don't know why, but that's very well done ! I just don't like how you did the " reactor" behind ^^ everything else is nice! ( even mixing blue and grey !^^ ) Quote
Asuka Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 A very well-defined and 'realistic' looking craft indeed, with these massive wings, that birdbeak-like front and the distinct engine. Quote
Talon Karrde Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Im loving all your great fighter's at the moment, keep 'em coming! Quote
