JopieK Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 (edited) I have tried to make two trains running on DCC. One of the motors has a defective gear (is the same as this one) , the other also has problems after I have closed the motor. Is someone familiar with replacement gears for the 9V motor or has someone tips for me so the train engines will work fine again?! This shop has some gears: conrad 1 shop 2] I probably need to go to a shop and try some, but initial idea's appreciated! Johan Edited October 19, 2008 by JopieK Quote
Thomas B. Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I can't help you there, but if anyone needs help on the Speed Regulator I can help. I think you're just going to have to order from the store. Sorry. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Well I'm no expert on this matter, but I would recommend perhaps following the instructions in RailBricks. I have a friend who did that step by step and his came out perfectly. Quote
JopieK Posted October 24, 2008 Author Posted October 24, 2008 well if the gears are broke even following a step by step procedure will fail ;) The hardest part is connecting the decoder and that was quite easy. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Well if the gears are broken, you're stuffed. I meant do the step by step thingo for your next effort with a good motor. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 The gears are not so expensive...i'd say order some and try. Just check the diameter on the new ones, and the number of teeth. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Do you just buy gears from the local hardware store? Quote
JopieK Posted October 24, 2008 Author Posted October 24, 2008 (edited) Do you just buy gears from the local hardware store? Yups, would be nice to provide us with a link :p Colleagues of Mech. Engineering can't fix it for me with their laser cutter at least (then can with a mold but too expensive). Edited October 24, 2008 by JopieK Quote
