AwesomeStar Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Here in the UK there is a tabloid paper called The Daily Mirror. Starting from yesterday there is a voucher inside each newspaper for you to cut out and hand in at a local Woolworths, in return for a small promotional Lego set. I don't have any pictures as I haven't gave mine in yet, but when I do, I'll put pictures on. ~A.S. Quote

Skinny Boy Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 2 down, 5 to go. Lets hope they deliver soon after purchase. Quote
Faxon Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 This seems like a decent offer, but after having to deliver about 10 Mirrors every day for the last year and a half, I can't even bring myself to support that smegfest of a paper even with the promise of Lego. At least I don't have to deliver the Star. Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Monday's paper. Still takes up most of the front page! (Tell me to stop if these are getting dull). Dr. S. Quote
Skinny Boy Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Tomorrows the big day. Orange dirtbike or no orange dirtbike? That is the question. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Tomorrows the big day. Orange dirtbike or no orange dirtbike? That is the question. *Sniffs polybag goodness in satisfaction* Yep, I've got 2 dirtbikes + a coupon to save to send off for all the sets They still haven't printed the sending date (perhaps it's from Friday that they'll do it) EDIT: Here it is - Edited October 22, 2008 by The Rancor Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Would anybody be so good to get me one of those dirtbikes? We don't have the mirror offer here in Holland. I can pay you for it and the SAH, or trade for something you'd like.. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Sorry Captain Green Hair. I deliberately got 2 for myself (yes, that might be selfish ) The precious... Quote

It looks dark in the pic. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Are the wheels light or dark bley? It looks dark in the pic. The wheels are dark bley. I get the feeling the polybag is slightly too big for the pieces inside... Let me give you an idea: the actual bike chassis piece is about big enough to fit between the mudguard at the front to the opposite end of that wheel's tyre on the bag. Skinny Boy Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Just got it. Its good and all, but the fig is a bit useless to me, though I the face. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I the face. Yer. The Ras face I really want the Power Miner largest set to include an orange bike now! Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Tuesday and Wednesday updates: Dr. S. Quote
Skinny Boy Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Question: All those who received the bike yesterday, could you compare the chassis to those of any other bikes you may own, from Indy sets or city. Look at the small bars that jut out allowing a frame to be clipped on. Are the new bikes bar's bigger? They certainly are on mine. I can't take a pic now, but I hope you understand what I mean. The reason i'm asking and not stating it as a fact that everybody's is like that, is because the newspaper clearly has smaller bars on the chassis. I am not talking about the handle bars. Also, looking at the tiny codes on the right side of the chassis: the Indy one says: 50859 1 01. The new one says: 50859 1-02. So, two types of the same piece. Was that really neccessary? Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I got several of each set purely for Eurobrickers I'm after gungan/jar jar minifigs at the moment but since the set only cost me £0.40 that doesn't equate! Would you like me to find out shipping costs? You're the best! PM send! Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Updates from Thursday and Friday: That's it! This is the last one of these I shall be buying, or posting images of as I now have the 7 vouchers I need. No longer need I soil my hands with this utter trite, nor expose myself to celebrity tittle-tattle, misreported facts, ridiculous sensationalism or rampant socialist claptrap. Dr. S. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I've got my coupons and cheque ready to send first thing on Monday (not that it'll make the set come any faster) Quote
Pencoin Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Yep, I as well have put the tokens in the evil world many call Postal Service. Expecting them in Decemeber . Quote
brickzone Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Missed last Sunday but picked up today's (Saturday) so I now have the requisite seven vouchers. I'll be trying to catch the early post on Monday. At least there's a TV guide in the Saturday edition of the Mirror - better than navigating the Sky Digibox just for the free channels. Quote
