Skinny Boy Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I saw an ad for this on tv. I really hope I can get that orange bike, and some others. Is it every Saturday? Quote

Shh and read the sentence under your avatar! I have seen it again and there are some others to go with it: (Mabye) Basically all the Small City and Creator sets that havent come out yet. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Perhaps you might fill us in on what country these are in, so that the rest of the community can find out whether they have to rush off to the newsagent. Whats the deal, buy the paper and get a set, or fill out so many coupons, or go in a draw? More info please, as at the moment its a bit of a tease Quote

I think when you buy the paper, it will say got to a certain bookshop. Usually with dvds its Easons, so hopefully they will branch out with lego. Quote
randomparrot Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) Here's the sets(on the right hand side): http://www.mirror.co.uk/lego/ Edited October 18, 2008 by randomparrot Quote
Skinny Boy Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Well, thats a load of curse words. We (the Irish) have to go to Smyths, everyday if we want these! Now how exactly is that feasable. I thought it was every sunday until Christmas, which is reasonable, but everyday! Come on Quote
Big Pete Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Well, thats a load of curse words. We (the Irish) have to go to Smyths, everyday if we want these! Now how exactly is that feasable. I thought it was every sunday until Christmas, which is reasonable, but everyday! Come on so buy the paper, collect 7 vouchers and send off a cheque for £6.50 to the address to be provided and they will mail you the whole 12 sets before Christmas! :P Quote
brickzone Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) Collecting the sets in person you have to use the voucher for each day on the day it is published. Looks like I will instead be collecting 7 vouchers and sending off by post - €9 plus the cost of the papers (€1 each for the non-Sunday ones) - total of €16 for 12 polybag sets isn't too bad (€1.33 per set) and that includes playmat? sticker sheet and the cardboard carry case. I will however have the chance to get some of the sets directly as duplicates - as I'll be in the city centre a couple of days and it's a half-hour walk to one of the Smyth's outlets. However, disappointing it's not a weekly release with time to get to Smyth's some time during the week when I'd be in the vicinity of one. EDIT: As for the quality of the newspaper in question... "Boy teaches his pet rats to surf" tells you all you need to know. Edited October 18, 2008 by brickzone Quote

Do we need certain day vouchers-Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, or any seven? I will hopefully get a paper today. Quote
brickzone Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 You just need seven *different* vouchers (from different days). Quote
Skinny Boy Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) Thanks, I should be able to manage that. Edited October 18, 2008 by Skinny Boy Quote
randomparrot Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I got a voucher today 1 down 6 to go. I'm mainly after the fire boat but i like the look of the police car. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) Got my first Police Helicopter Voucher! I'm going to collect the FIRST SEVEN vouchers and send them off as fast as possible! I may however get duplicates of the Coast Guard bike as it may be in the new Power Miners Excavator. @ randomparrot: there is no Police car. Edited October 18, 2008 by The Rancor Quote

Skinny Boy Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I got the paper earlier and was thinking of getting seven vouchers, but, it says they'll get it to you before Christmas. I'm thinkin we wont get it until December 20 at latest. Maybe I'm paranoid, but i'm just gonna get the coast guard bike. Ooooohhh orange Quote
The Rancor Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) *cough* http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/randompa.../police_car.jpg *cough* Ah yes, perhaps I should rephrase. "There is no Police Car in the Lego City free gifts" By my calculations the set should arrive around Monday 8th December I wonder if Toys R Us will have any sets for 09' before Christmas this year... Yes there was another thread about this with a link to all the sets avaliable and all the information that's been asked for but oh well. The website that RandomParrot also has the instructions available for download in case you can't get the sets themselves Link to Daily Mirror website Edited October 18, 2008 by chris_austin Quote
DarthPineapple Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) I was wondering if anyone is kind enough to get a Coast Guard bike and Mini Digger for me, please. I believe you get the Mini Digger tomorrow. here are some details (topic). Thanks in advance! EDIT: Already got 2 replies, so I don't need to anymore. Still thanks if you wanted to help. pedro Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I picked up my copy today - some great little sets on offer there! Was a little too late for hitting the shops but I think I'll do the seven token exchange and catch whichever extra sets I can if convienient. I'll start tomorrow with the digger and I'll defo have to pick up the Coastguard motorbike at least! I have no idea what the availability will be like on these sets so will try and head down as early as possible... within reason. How many people got today's set? Any photos? Quote

The Rancor Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 How many people got today's set? Any photos? Doesn't seem like anyone actually redeemed their voucher today, but I may be wrong. If this is true, we won't see any owner pics until 8th December! Quote
Big Pete Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 i got the helicopter set today ... and I will be popping into Woolies / ELC each day for the next 11 days :) In terms of availability, I noticed that in Woolies, they had 2 large boxes of the sets. The box had "Sat" written on it in pen, so I guess they have all 12 sets in the back ready and waiting. I'm looking forward to getting them all :D Quote
