popkids Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Since the introduction of cloth capes, Lego has released them in various different colours, but never in white. I wonder how much longer they will wait before doing so. In the absence of classic Castle, I reckon the Harry Potter line is probably our best bet if we are going to see these. I'm not familiar with the Potter stories, does anyone else know whether one of the characters is likely to wear white in the forthcoming films? Of course, this is nothing to do with the fact that I want to buy a chess set and then swap out the grey parts for white ones. Nothing at all, oh no... ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Your best bet would probably be a wave two of Goblet of Fire with a Madame Maxime figure, but the cape might be oversized... Quote
Beagle Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 I would just make your own... after all, cloth capes are probably one of the few lego pieces that the average person (i.e. one not in possesion of an ABS plastic mold) could conceivably duplicate themselves. Just get some thin, stiff white fabric, an x-acto knife, and use one of the existing lego capes as a template. Sure, it wouldn't be an "official" lego part, but it would be better than waiting for something that may or may not ever be released. Hey, I just thought of something else.... I wonder if you could bleach a black (or other colored) cape? Anyone ever tried it, just soaking that sucker in bleach till it turned white? Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Maybe we could get a white cape with some Knight set. A wizard could wear white or something. I would really love too, be great for some KoTOR era Jedi :) Quote
dbuty Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Depending on the fabric's base color & any indelible dyes, it may not bleach out to white. In the past I've purposely (and accidentally) bleached black fabric, and got differnet results... every thing from blue to tan to pink... Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Pink capes? I might have to bleach a few. I could find a use for all the colours you listed. Quote
The Middleman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 The best bet for bleaching would be Lupin's light blay cloak. Quote
