Shadows Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 As we entered a new decade, LEGOLAND was again populated by new citizens, or at least they had new clothes to wear. It's kind of hard to tell, they all have that same happy face. Whatever the case, 1980 sees the addition of a medical team in the form of doctor and nurse, a well-off couple featuring a lady wearing beads and a man in a suit, a racer in a zippered jacket, a striped shirt, a new fireman and a pair of designs exclusively created for set 1592, the mayor and knight costume. Optimized for printing at 600dpi (1.551cm x 1.227cm). (thumbnails link to full size decals) In 1979: The Year in Minifigs, we offered you some alternate colour variation for classic torsos of that year. We will do the same this year, in the form of the woman in beads and the suited man, adding variety to your Classic Town minifig assortment. And that was 1980. Hope you enjoy these offerings, and as always, if you decide to use some, please feel free to post pictures of your efforts in this thread, we'd love to see them! Quote
Guss Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 It seems that I have a lot of 1980 torso and some 1979 torso ^^ thanks for sharing, I don't have a printer so I'll not use it , but thanks anyway ^^ Quote
Bob Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Same with me. I didnt even know i either. I like all those different suit and tie colors. Quote
Freddie Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Wow. Looks like I'm not the only one here who thought that. What surprises me more is that, I think, two of those torsos were used for the passengers in the 4558 Euro Express/Metroliner; more specifically the first and fourth one. The second to last torso was probably used into the 90's as well. Actually, I think all of them, with the exception of the fifth and sixth, were used into the 90's. Quote

I own a lot of them as well (and any lego collector with me). I also liked the doctors torso in those days, I think it was the first real doctors torso, instead one from the red cross or from a nurse... Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 They're great. Now I can do "sex changes" and make many many more female figs:) Quote
