Still Raindrop Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I recently got the police station, and there were quite a lot of those white paddles (piece 3900) with the trans-blue 1/3 1x1 cylinders attached. What exactly are those supposed to be? And why do the police have so many of them? Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I believe they are used, in LEGOworld, as objects to direct traffic? They have also been included in airport sets of the past with different color transperent plates, for directing planes. And I believe they have so many because if the drivers in LEGOworld drive as crappy as people in my city, then there are plenty of traffic problems and they need lots of Police to direct traffic. Just so you know, you can also call the 1/3 tall 1 x 1 cylinders plates. Quote
Lego12 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I was also wondering this, but then I found out that they were to direct traffic, as stash2sixx already said. Quote
Zorro Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Directing traffic is only one of their many purposes I guess, but certainly NOT their main purpose. It is intended to be used (mainly thus...) as a POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS thingie OR as a WARNING SIGN (accident - carcrash)... But as you guys said, you can do other things with them: signs for airport, signs for (car)races,... Quote
Dragonator Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I think they're just random paddles with a purpose that should be left to the imagination. Although I think police signs would be the most likely use for such things, as zorro3999 said: crashes, do not pass this point signs, and of course, traffic control! Yeah something like that... Quote
JopieK Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 most classic trains also have them, then they are used to let the conductor give a 'cleared for take off' to the engineer. Quote

Holodoc Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 In Germany the police uses the paddles with a red light. But TLC changed from german police designs (green/white) to different ones. It seems they included the warning color as well. Quote

Thomas B. Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I love those paddles! They have many great uses. I knew they existed! I can't believe you guys didn't! Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 It is intended to be used (mainly thus...) as a POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS thingie OR as a WARNING SIGN (accident - carcrash)... But then wouldn't there be enough 1x1 cylinders to hold them up? I think they are for whatever you can dream up. I don't think they had anything really in mind when they designed the set. Quote
