Here are some of mine

Masters and Comanders

The Horatio Hornblower series

Blackbeard by hallmark

The bucaneers(old old tv series)

Walt dysnies return to treasure island series

and of course Muppet treasure island

Master and Commander, without any doubt.

And lets not forget Pirates of the Carribean ! Not really that historical but good to watch anyway.

Walt Disney's Treasure Island movies

Walt Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Horatio Hornblower

Richard Sharpe

The Patriot (not for the Mel Gibson scenes, the battle marching scenes)

Master and Commander

To a certain extent, the PotC movies.

Man you guys are fast, yes 20,000 leauges under the sea is great, i even thaught about building a lego nautilus. The patriot is also a graet film, along with the Sharpe series. And the POTC movies are cool too but maybe a bit too special effecty? A new other intersting film is John Adams, producesd by HBO 7 episodes purely period corred excellent film/ documentary.

Not only is it great, in my opinion, it's the best Disney film ever made! (The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad is a close second)

The ship models in 20k are great, and I'll get a screen capture later, when I have access to a PC (I have idea how to do it on a MAC. Any suggestions?)

Masters and Comanders, I liked it a lot.

Barry London.. kubrick .. :pir-wub:

Pirates Of the Caribbean are funny

I didn't really watched a lot of pirate movies

I'm a fan of a manga that talk about pirates : One Piece, that's not a movie .. but .. there is some "one piece OAV" ^^

I agree with both those statements. The Crimson Pirate was awesome !

BTW: did you guys know Christopher Lee played a small role in it? I read that some time ago, and I've checked that last time I've seen it, and yes: I recognized him. He played as the secretary of Herman !

I don't know there was a medieval version...never seen it, are you certain it came from the same director/producer?

The Crimson Pirate was directed by Robert Siodmak and Burt Lancaster himselve(I'm pretty sure at least...).

Yeah, its by the same producer i think, it has the same caracters the mute guy too. It has something with an arrow in the title, the flame and the arrow

The movie "Pirates" by Roman Polanski is the best pirate movie ever made. Its an older movie and not as well known as it should be. I suggest everyone find a copy and watch it. The galleon replica 'Neptune' was made for this movie.

I didn't see many movies, but from the ones I did see, I think Master and Commander is the best. The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is nice, but not realistic.

I love Blackbeard and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! They are awesome! I hope they make a LEGO Pirate movie! :P

When you say LEGO Pirate Movie, you do realise that BrickFace Studios can provide animation to a good script provided to them? More details, PM me.

Another film, Damn the Defiant was a good one. I havn't watched it in ages, but I think it was about an English navy captain delivering a cargo of timber, when he crosses with a French enemy before finally joining the rest of the fleet.

Well, I'd have to say:

1. Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl (I can't stand the two other POTC movies) :pir-sick:

2. Master and Commander Far Side of the World

Did you know, Master and Comander is based on a series of books. The Far Side of The World was the title of one book, although the movie was based on many of the books.

I did know that, altough the book series is rather long winded, if you catch my drift.

Wow, I didn't know that. I'll have to check that out. Thanks.
