7680 Twilight? Mod-able?

Hey guys. I know I'm not much of a poster, but I do have a few Twilight-related queries

I'm considering buying one to mod. I have downloaded the instructions from TLC and would like to put a 12x? bley plate down to make a stable deckplate on the bottom of the interior?

I looked at the instructions, and it seemed OK, but i didn't know if the landing gear would be able to close all the way with the plate there?

I don't think it'll collide with the landing gear.

I can't check since I've already taken my Twilight apart.
