This looks really good!

Wish I had the bricks and skills to build something like this...

Are you going to make instructions?

Wow, i think you did an amazing job by designing this train! I love the connection of old and new pieces, works really well. Are you also planning to add some interior?

I wish I had the bricks myself! Yes there are instructions available. But I keep these for the CD i'm creating. takes a long time to fill a CD up with just pics and MLCAD files!

Well.. its just 4 studs wide inside, so kinda hard to do. I might build a version that is a little wider so the interior can look even better then what it is right now.

Currently it holds a few seats for passengers and the driver has its own 'cockpit' as it is in real. even the area under the driver is empty like the real thing!

The Dutch railways have some beautifull trains in their assortment, I once saw an expose in The Hague.

Nice digital build BTW

This is not the only one I made from the Dutch Railways, I have more that are pretty much finished or being build still

This project aint 100% finished yet tho, i'm not real happy with how it is still... so might be a public update soon... who knows

ow, for those that don't know the real train, compair it with the picture on this link: Click me!

Hey,

I'm making a real life copy! In a different colour scheme otherwise I don't have the pieces. How did you solve that engine problem? How does it pass the edge of the train baseplate ?

hehe, yeah that was a hard one to solve, at first i made a version that had the engine basically in the cowcatcher (front bumper part) so I had to change that, I had an idea to make the actual train longer but keep the engine at the same place as it was. This solved both the problem of the engine as the problem that it looks really stupid when so small. Only thing I done basically was lengthen it with 6 studs. Do be aware that the cockpit area can be weak since it is not really sturdy build, unfortunately the right parts for this are not available. I'm not sure either if there is enough place for a driver in that cockpit. It actually got build for looks, not really for usage, besides that it is hard to create something that just fits perfectly and looks perfect aswell. If you see any problems in your build, please let me know!

EDIT: ow yeah, I am trying to get the Dutch Railways permission to use their logo and there by upload a picture so you guys can see that aswell. Besides that I am trying to get that aswell to help out, not just any help but realising this model to become a real LEGO set! LEGO itself keeps bumping me off with lame excuses as 'we can not help because of legal problems' and 'we have our builders in Danmark and the rules are that no fan ideas go to them'. And then I ask them why so many fan models have made it in real LEGO and why so many ideas were stolen! Anywayz, It seems to take some time in this but I will keep you posted!
