Klaus-Dieter Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) Hello everybody! Here's my latest LDD MOC: Schachplatz Pieces: 190 Price: 19.16 € In the center of Lego City there is a calm place in a nice park where two older men are playing chess. Do you want to join the chess game? Or do you only want to sit down on one of the two benchs and watch them? Set contains a big chess with pawns in game, two benchs, some foliage plants and two older men. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter Edited September 12, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Guss Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 nicely done, I love the little chess pieces. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Very nicely done, and very realistic. 3.14.../3 Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 13, 2008 Author Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Thank you very much for your nice comments, Lt. Col. Thok and Guss! nicely done, I love the little chess pieces. Thanks. I thought quite a long time about how to make the chess pieces - because without these the whole "Schachplatz" would look very empty and boring. Plus you are theoretically aible to play with this pieces chess (I say theoretically because it would get a bit difficukt since they are very little ). And by the way: Welcome to EB, Guss! Manta Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I like this set, how much does it cost to purchase? Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 13, 2008 Author Posted September 13, 2008 I like this set, how much does it cost to purchase? Thank you for your nice comment, Manta! To the price: For Germany it's 19,16 Euros. But I don't know how much it's in the US (and whether you can buy it there at all). The best thing would be if you browse through Lego.Factory at the web and search for the member Klaus-Dieter. Then you'll get a list of all my creations. You click at "Schachplatz" and first possibility: click on the button "check price" second possibility: download the instruction. After you have download the instruction you click on the button where you can ask for the price. I hope I could help. If you buy it it would be very nice if you make a review - I would really like to see how it then looks in reality. Klaus-Dieter Quote
legotrainfan Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Nice little set! Love it! I've seen such things in real parks before but it has never occurred to me that an imitation could be made for a LEGO park. Anyway, I find it's a nice addition to any LEGO park! I mean on weekends the minifigs must spend their spare time somehow. Quote
Guss Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 thank you Klaus-Dieter , Yep, in theory , you can play with it , if you have very thin fingers! ^^ at least Minifig can play with it when you don't look at them , didn't you know minifig were alive when you are anywhere else ? oh wait ... maybe it's only in Toy Story.. Holodoc Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Very nice idea, Klaus-Dieter! Two suggestions: I would have used a 1x1 brick for the towers and the knights are looking boring. What about combining these two bricks: and or a 1x1 plate with a 1x1 slope? Your creation is a great addition to the town scene and would have been nice to see in Town Plan. Quote

I mean on weekends the minifigs must spend their spare time somehow. You're right. That's actually what I thought, too. Perhaps TLG will offer another awesome exclusive City set (like the amazing 10188 Town Plan) in some years which then would include a little park. I would that very much, too. Two suggestions:I would have used a 1x1 brick for the towers and the knights are looking boring. What about combining these two bricks: and or a 1x1 plate with a 1x1 slope? You're right, Holodoc. The knights really look boring. I thought a long time about how to design all the parts differently but I didn't find a very good solution. You're first idea with the combination does regrettably not work since is bigger than 1x1 - and the squares are only 1x1. But the idea of a 1x1 plate with a 1x1 slope is good. Ok, ok, then I understood you wrong - excuse me. Now, let's see, perhaps I'll try to rebuild the chess parts. And if so then I'll of course show them to you.
