Lilac season is my favorite two weeks of the year, so to celebrate I made this little diorama of a fusilier reminiscing about her youth in rural France before she sets off on Napoleon's 1803 Hanover campaign.

Thank you! My father had a sofa with similar ornamental wood carvings when I was young. To me they're always been the epitome of fancy.
