Guss Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) Hi everyone, I had a MOC idea, I wanted to build a fortified chariot , so I did it , but I was wondering, "why does a trolley have to be fortified ? " then I found : "because it's carrying a relic ! " then I wanted to do something stupider than a fortified chariot, so I searched... and I found : " a fortified chariot with a drawbridge carrying a relic ! " ... and my new moc was born. the relic is the holy Beer-glasses, with wich the messiah drank till he vomited, amen. check the files : CLICK HERE for more pics. or here for the brickshelf gallery when moderated : CLICK HERE here is a general view of the chariot, yeah it only got three horses because I only have three horses : from the other side : the drawbridge with it mechanism : from the top, mechanism closed : from the top, open : from the rear , full of stuff : from the rear, with only the relic remaining : do you see the piece at the left ? it's Usually attached on the top ( look at the other pictures, just at the opposite of the mechanism. ) , it is made to be placed at the rear, as you can see on the next picture, tom make the floor more smooth hop : with this piece, they can easily transport the relic : just forward the relic, a chair for the religious guy, let's call him the priest. a view of the "cockpit" where the man who drives the chariot is placed ( "cocher" in French, don't know the English word for him ^^) the front part of the chariot can be separated to makes a little chariot : there is a system for the big one to not fall, check the files if you want to see it. let's add this to the chariot (the man in white is supposed to be a priest ) : with a little waterfall : and now, a little attack scene : check the files : CLICK HERE for more pics. or here for the brickshelf gallery when moderated : CLICK HERE here we go with another moc from me! Feel free to comments! and to say what you don't like ! Edited September 24, 2008 by Guss Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I recently put my first MOC up for critique also. I told everyone it was a work in progress, but I wanted honest opinions so I could make improvements. So first off, go easy on yourself! If you really feel that it is a "stupid ugly moc" then you might want to reconsider before you post it. Give yourself a few points for actually putting something online for people to comment on. That being said... Very creative. Looks like an 'original' tank (like the first one ever) that uses real horsepower. If you are planning to make changes or adjustments, may I offer a few things that I might try? Dwarves are usually the creative engineer types, so maybe have Dwarves working the machine? I would also add more horses if you can. That thing looks heavy! I think that with a few more horses working together, your troops won't have to get new horses by next week. Good job. Quote
Guss Posted September 13, 2008 Author Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) thanks for your kind words, I edited the message to make it looks less " pessimist" ^^ sadly I do not have more horses, I originally wanted to put 6 horses , but I can't :/ and I do not have little legs for dwarves (maybe I can build some ...I didn't think of it ) , so I had no choices, the minifigs used in this MOC are the only one that look "medieval " I have, But I'm going to increase my collection soon, maybe I'll rebuild it with more horses ^^ Edited September 14, 2008 by Guss Quote
Guss Posted September 14, 2008 Author Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) sorry for Upping the topic, I made some thumbnails instead of posting the full pics because I uploaded a lot of pictures, so I changed my post . comments and critics are welcome btw ^^ Edited September 14, 2008 by Guss Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Dont be so rough on yourself! Nice waterfall scene there and I like the action of the chariot attacking as well. Quote
Guss Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) thanks you I Scream Clone ^^ I surely say that my mocs are bad because of what I see on this forum, there so many amazing things ( including yours ! ) , that sometimes when I look what I'm doing I'm just thinking : " that's cool but... there is surely a way to makes it better! " so Now I'll just let people give their opinions about things ^^ thanks! and Happy birthday to you^^ Edited September 18, 2008 by Guss Quote
Asuka Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 A nice and original work with very neat details like the carrot and the barrels and some nifty features like that separate-able front. Perhaps it looks a little more like some post-apocalyptic MOC due to these tires. Some brown instead grey for the drawbridge part could also look interesting. For 'better' MOCs, all it really needs is just a little practice and to look closely at other person´s MOCs, to learn from them and to gather some additional inspiration. Quote
Guss Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Thanks a lot Asuka, post apocalyptic moc ? yeah.. maybe, as I said , I had no choices for the wheels :/ as for the drawbridge, I had not enough brown pieces when I built it, now that I received the sandcrawler, I have a LOOT of brown pieces, but I destroyed the chariot ^^ Quote
Zorro Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Your MOCS are awesome, but I must say I, like your waterfall MOC above your drawbridge MOC ! I have a horse shortage too... Quote
Guss Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Your MOCS are awesome, thanks a lot Zorro3999 ^^ I also really like my little waterfall, but I put the chariot too close to it, so we can't see it in the final display ^^ Quote
Guss Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Flippin awesome work, dude! thanks a lot Sam ^^ Quote
