Hippie-ville Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) https://postimg.cc/cvPY8mVH Hello there fellow AFOLs, Last week I released a new book for the AFOL community titled “Hot Tips for AFOL Newbies.” The book explores LEGO project ideas, developing MOCs, creative display ideas, caring for LEGO collections, and the evolving culture of AFOLs. It also touches on the psychology of the hobby — the obsession, the AFOL mindset, and a few of the taboos we all quietly understand. The book includes contributions from AFOL builders around the world and references many well-known AFOL creators. In many ways it has become a community AFOL project, filled with photos, “Hot Tips,” and practical ideas for LEGO fans. If anyone is curious, the book has recently been released on Amazon. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0GRRLJ128 Or simply: • Go to your local Amazon store • Search: AFOL book • Click: Hot Tips for AFOL Newbies (by Hippie-ville) If you enjoy the book, I would greatly appreciate an honest review on the Amazon page. And if you think your audience might find it useful or interesting, feel free to share it. Hippie-ville Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Hello there Paul, Where in Tasmania are you located? I am serving a penal internment in Burnie. A ghost town where even pubs fear to be open after 10pm on a Friday. Technic requires a different mind approach in LEGO; it's much more relatable to engineering mechanics. Your Technic designs are quite impressive! What is the purpose of the rear mount roller attachment on the off road truck? What is the roller used for? You could make that little unit remote control. I like the detail in the engine setup in the Jeep Wrangler. Excellent detail! As you can tell from my films, I don't use Technic - I haven't got that mind for it. I had such a Dickins of a time building the Moon, Earth Technic model 2024 Christmas. Not fun! Would you like to buy it? Anyhoo ... nice to meet a fellow Tasmanian on an international forum. I'm spreading Hippie-ville's online presence a bit wider these days - it seems that Eurobricks is a bit of a sleepy online forum site. Check out 'Hot Tips for AFOL Newbies' available through Amazon.com.au - search: AFOL book. You'll find it. And if you like the You Tube Hippie-ville content - consider subscribing! - I have a few goofy and crazy films in the pipeline, as well as writing another 'Hot Tips AFOL' book. Have a groovy day Pete Quote
Paul B Technic Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Thanks Pete, I am over in Launceston. I am in the process of designing some new attachments and a new truck, as I was not happy with the size of that one. I will check the links out, thanks for them. Quote
