If you go back a couple of pages in the thread you'll find people speculating based on MOCs that it should be possible. Is it possible the Flying Lessons set could be the base of the astronomy tower? lol idk if that’s possible, but i know they haven’t revealed where it fits within the Modular’s yet. I was looking at it closed up and it almost looks like it could be the base of the astronomy tower lol or at least connect somehow maybe. Quote

The base would be too thin to support a tower that is supposed to be taller than the Main Tower. While it might have a final location in the wave, it could also be like the Owlery and just sit on its own. The clips just being there as a possible connection but not to create the silhouette. Quote
Tomsriddle Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Gotcha thanks! i went out and bought the entirety of this waves castle, because i believe it’ll be the last and most detailed hogwarts set for the movies. Especially because the TV series begins this Christmas, I can see Lego focusing on the series for the next ten years. Quote

I highly doubt that Lego will put all their eggs in one basket on the reboots just yet. The Fantastic Beasts sets apparently didn’t do well enough to continue with, they haven’t really invested much in the Disney live action remakes after the disaster of the giant Little Mermaid clamshell D2C, and they’ve even leaned towards over caution with Star Wars sets for newly released Disney+ shows (just look at what The Mandalorian got the year it came out). I'm very much expecting the set representation next year to be at least 50/50, if not 70/30 in favor of the movies. We’ll probably get a welcome break from Sorcerer’s Stone stuff in favor of the streaming series, but I fully expect there to still be stuff from the later movies. Quote

And even if you go by a reasonable PPP would put it at $25 but even then you still have to factor Stag mold which of course brings up the price to $30. You can argue if the extra pieces are necessary or not but what you are physically getting in the box is pretty good value all things considered. The Privet Drive Escape set is $10 cheaper because it has one less minifig and half the pieces. Even if the old Expecto Patronum set came out the same as it did back in 2019, it’d still be $26 its basically a wash, at least in this version you pay a little more and you get more pieces. I still disagree. The old Expecto Patronum did what it was supposed to do. Just like the Rise of Voldemort set - both were sets people bought for the figs and nothing else. Could LEGO build a better graveyard at a higher piece count? Sure. Could LEGO build better trees at a higher piece count? Sure probably I guess though their track record with trees lets me hesitate. But again, the sets did what they were supposed to do. The Privet Drive Escape works along the same lines; the "Privet Drive" part of it looks like crap and the "play function" (a hinge) is truly pitiful, but then no-one's buying this set for either of those reasons. Here, however, they pretty clearly jack up the piece count so the fans will think "roughly 250 pieces for EUR 30, that's fair" when in reality those pieces don't get you anything worthwhile. I'm not dissing smaller sets, you can build some pretty nice stuff with 200+ pieces, but this "forest" looks like advent calendar reject builds so IMO we'd be better off with a smaller piece count and a smaller overall price. I don't think the inflation argument holds that much water either because while on the whole things are getting more expensive, at the same time technological avances and such lead to some things becoming cheaper to produce. Case in point is, again, the Privet Drive Escape set: We haven't had four minifigs - one of them Hagrid - for EUR 20 for a long time. Another case in point is the Sorting Hat Ceremony: We haven't had four minifigs and a brand new sparkly cat for EUR 15 in a long time. You can also see it in other themes; i.e. Friends used to be very, very stingy with minidolls, and for the bigger sets they still often are. But these days you can get two minidolls and at least one animal, possibly more, for EUR 10 list price no problem - there's one or two sets like this in every wave (currently the Axolotl Boat Ride, Balloon Stand, and Flamingo Pool Party come to mind). Another example is Marvel mechs; those used to be EUR 10, then they got jacked up to EUR 15, now they're still EUR 15 but usually include a second minifig. So either minifigs and minidolls have gotten a lot cheaper to produce or LEGO are applying a different type of calculation to smaller sets in order to make the examples I've given possible. Either way I don't think we should just go "this used to be the price several years back, so let's add and add and add to it and then whatever's the total has to be fair" while disregarding all other factors.
