EVE Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Amazing! I love all the detail, especially the helmet, wings, and saddle. Then the winged hussars arrived! Coming down the mountainside! Then the winged hussars arrived! Coming down, they turned the tide! Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Epic knight! The sense of movement is remarkable. Quote
funemlefox Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Yeah that's just utterly superb. The scale the posing and proportions are spot on. How big is that in real life looks huge when I look at pieces? Any chance of some tips on how to make something like that? Quote
BardDandelion Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 @funemlefox Yeah, it is a big one. 30-40cm, I guess (not counting the lance). There is only one way to learn building - practice and more practice. You may start with set - try to modify/improve them. There are some great builds in sets that may inspire or teach you (you must look for sets designed by people with MOCing background). @LEGO Train 12 Volts Thanks a lot! Some of my previous builds suffer due to static pose. With this one wanted to avoid it. @Gargoles Thank you! I also wanted to make something different. Most people in my community focus on minifig scale builds, making something bigger helps to stand out. :D @Bart Thanks a lot! ;) @EVE Thanks! I was very glad with how I built the rider, figuring out all the details was a nice challenge. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Incredible work. Lots of little details abound. How you did the harness for the saddle is ingenious. Quote
BardDandelion Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 @Feuer Zug Thanks! Yup, adding this harrnes changed a lot. I have some WIP photos without it and it really adds "depth" to the whole build. Quote
Elysiumfountain Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Phenominal! Just the parts usage and the posing, awesome. I can't stop looking at it! Quote
Vliebricker Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Wow, what a beautiful build! Perfect Polish Hussar of the heavy Cavalry from the 17th century. Well done, BardDandelion! Quote
BardDandelion Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 @Vliebricker Thank you very much! Now I need to build more characters from the time period. :D @R0Sch Thanks! Yeah, it's a really bulky horse. :D @Elysiumfountain Thanks a lot! Wanted to create dynamic pose for this build, it wasn't easy but totally worth the time. :D Quote
