kciR Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) The model that every builder has to build at least once is of course the iconic X-Wing. Many, many builders have done this one before me. I gave it a spin on midi scale. I decided this after building Jerac’s X-Wing v2 a couple of years ago, that one is so great, that I doubted it if I could make it better. So I went for midi-scale, a lovely scale to build starships in. For this moc I used 2 studs = 1 meter. It’s about 26 studs long, that matches the 13m of the X-Wing in the movies. Most of the time went into the folding mechanism of the wings and the alignment of the wings in both open and folded mode. I was for this one inspired by the builds of Pasq67 and GrayMouser. Both lovely Mocs that inspired me a lot! Front angle with wings open. Back view with wings folded. Extra shot I also made instructions. They’re basically a build break down, but it should by understandable. It starts from this photo in my Flickr stream. Edited 1 hour ago by kciR Quote
