Hi,

I though I'd share some updated pictures of my new stadium, still it is not completed but there is not too much to do on the "inside". Most of the remaining work will be the detail on the outside such as changing rooms and turnstiles and so on. Pictures during the build are available here.

LOL ! nice idea Cpt. Green Hair !

nice stadium Oo you have a lot of grey bricks ^^ will you fill it with people doing a Olaaa ?

Captain Green Hair has a good idea, there's a topic showing how to make a TV with an iPod screen. I like the stadium a lot, I think that the goals are a little blocky though. You might try putting some transparent screens there so it looks a little better.

Nice work Calvin, the shape is great!

Perhaps a working tv screen made out of an ipod or something would be cool?

Yes, the iPod tv is my idea, and would be a great addition to the amazing stadium Calvin  . I wonder how many figs/fans it will hold?

Thanks,

Those are good ideas. I don't have an Ipod but I might be able to use my cameras viewing screen.. I'll give it a try and see what the result is.

I had an idea with the goals but didnt have time. Was going to use those white fences with the small honeycomb holes as they look like nets. Only problem is that I have used them in buildings but I might swap them out soon and see if they'd look good as goals.

Thanks for the ideas again guys

The sheer size alone is impressive! But this is not really Minifig-sized, is it? I can´t imagine having minifigs sit down on those 1 stud ranks.

The goals are indeed a bit blocky. Why don´t you just use the real goals? TLC has many football (or soccer, whatever you wanna call it) sets with goals. Shouldn´t be such a big problem to obtain two goals.

"... many castles died in the making of this stadium..."

That's very cool... my only query, are there any white cargo nets or netting from other sets that you could use for the goals to avoid the blocky "dugout" look?

Thanks for these suggestions. As I said I had an idea for the goals but it may not work...

Basically it is to use white fences such as those shown in the foreground of this picture. However I am not sure I am bothered to even try as I don't have much time.

I'm definitely won't be using the goals that come with offical LEGO football sets as I like square looking goals rather than water polo/ice hockey goals which the official ones look like.

i.e. I like this style,

as opposed to this .. (LEGO's version's like this)

I think the idea about using an iPod or some similar device for a Screen is an easier one for me to do. I will try and integrate my Cannon camera so the screen shows - have to first check that the screen stays on long enough without the need of buttons being pressed..

Well I hope to get somewhere between 1500 and 2000 for this weekend's "Legoland Derby" between LFC and Legoland United as it is the league's showpiece fixture.

Well it isn't a seating stadium that's true, I guess it's old-style terracing, common in many nations but banned in many competitions such as those run by UEFA and FIFA due to considered dangers.

Here are some pics with fans in a terraced Lego stadium. I think they fit in fine.
