Auroralampinen Posted Friday at 08:32 AM Posted Friday at 08:32 AM Well, this December was really surprising. About a couple weeks ago I did browse Lidl's weekly catalogs and I noticed. Lidl is again producing brick sets. Well, Lidl first attempt in the brick market happened in 2019 or 2018. But it was quickly stopped. Because Lego decided suing Lidl for some pieces(if I remember correctly. I'm not a lawyer). And the sets vanished quickly from the stores. But I did buy some of them. And the sets were great. And I still do have them sealed in some closet:). But now in 2025 lidl is again back in the business:). Now they have released baseplates, flower sets, road plates, 10€ sets and 15€ sets:). And today I will be looking into the 10€ and 15€ set. But I still really want the 15€ lidl truck set;). Specs:). Model name, Forklift Truck, Fire Engine. Release date, 1.12.2025. Piece count, 146pcs, 306pcs. Price, 9.99€, 14.99€. Boxes:). The boxes are good quality cardboard. With nice artwork:). Inside of the box:). The Forklift Truck’s box was about 15% full:). The Fire Engine set box was about 90% full:). Bags:). Inside of the Forklift Truck's box was 3 unnumbered bags, instructions, massive instructions for use guide and stickers:). Inside of the Fire Engine box was 8 numbered bags, instructions, massive instructions for use guide, string and stickers:). Instructions:). The Forklift Truck's instructions has 18 pages with 45 building steps:). The Fire Engine has 21 pages with 63 building steps:). First pages of the book:). Last pages of the books:). Instructions for use;). Unique pieces and colors:). 8L and 4L axles in Light Bluish gray, frictionless pin in White and a White wormgear which has friction axle hole not a frictionless axle hole:). Frictionless Red pin with stud:). Light Bluishgray 8th gear:). Building process:). Forklift Truck:). Bag 0( 3 Bags in total) Fire Engine:). Bag 1( 6 Bags in total) Bag 2( 2 Bags in total) Unique building solution:). Spare parts:). Minifigures:). Ok, i will say this straight. These minifigures are okayish but not as good as the pantasy figures. Though these has a movable legs which pantasy has skipped Outside details:). Interior:). Functions:). In the Fire Engine set:). Working ladder elevation, openable doors, cabinets, rotable superstructure, and fire hose. Plus a extra fire extinguisher and a barrel on fire:). In the Forklift Truck:). Raisedable and adjustable forks and boom. Plus a pallet to pick up:). Pros and cons:). +Playability +Sticker quality +Instructions +Piece quality +Value +/- Looks +/- Minifigures -Stickers go over multiple pieces Final note:). The piece quality is excellent, no differences compared to the 2018-2019 sets and to the pantasy sets or lego. And the stickers are top notch even though they go over multiple pieces as on the 2018-2019 lineup. I truly stand for the sticker quality. It's much better quality than some premium Chinese brick brands. Lidl has truly mastered the stickers even though they cover multiple pieces. The stickers usually have a transparent background. The minifigures are okayish but not as good as the pantasy figures. Though these do have movable legs which pantasy doesn't have. And in the Forklift Truck set the hair/hat piece goes so far down that the top part of the face print is almost covered by the hat/hair piece. The instructions are good and easy to follow, no issues there. The Fire Engine only has one seat in the cabin. And the ladder superstructure looks a bit unfinished and the turntable is too loose. I think there should be more friction in the turntable. But overall I think these are good for the age demographic. And I think kids 5+ won't criticise the unfinished looks:). And a couple days ago I went to Lidl. And a little kid said to his parent, really excited, that he saw a fire truck. So I think these will be really popular in the 5+ category. And I think adults aren’t really qualified to criticize the looks, figures or some functions of a kids toy:). Final verdict:). (As an AFOB(Adult Fan Of Bricks) Figures 3.5/5 Sticker quality 5/5 Piece quality 4.5/5 Playability 5/5 Building experience 4.5/5 Instructions 5/5 Looks 4.5/5 Value 4.5/5 Verdict as an 5+ Looks 6/5 Look mama a fire truck i really wish this for this christmas:). Value 6/5(Because 5+ don’t yet understand value;).). Playability 6/5 Look mama man has fallen into a river and I'm gonna rescue it with this firetruck:). Building experience 5/5 Stickers 6/5 Luckily my mama will suffer with the sticker placement, and i don't have to do anything;). Figures 6/5 Look mama these heroe figures rescued a cat from a tree:). Auroralampinen Posted Saturday at 04:41 AM Author Posted Saturday at 04:41 AM And about the stickers. I did do a little calculation. Since cada for example. Has in some sets a stickers. And usually they cover entire piece and they go over the edge if you aren't carefull. So my calculations are that Lego sticker covers around 90% of the piece and is relatively easy to put on:). Lidl stickers cover 95% of the surface but still not overlaping, and the sticker placement is relatively straightfoward. You just have to put it more close to the edges of the pieces:). Cada sticker covers 100% of the piece surface and it's the most difficult and impossible to apply. Because it does most times go over the edges:). Quote
