sixf00t4 Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 I've seen the repair videos, but what are the alternative connectors if I don't have any at all? I have plenty of 9v track and controllers, but no solution for wires/connection to the track itself. Quote
Narissis Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 The FX Track ones should be coming soon; AFAIK they're manufactured and are basically just waiting for packaging in the final retail boxes (they had sampled polybags but will be using boxes instead for the final product). Quote

Essentially all you need is a way of connecting wire to track and wire in between two track pieces is probably easiest and cheapest. Quote
Toastie Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 (edited) Throughout my layout, I have soldered (paired) wires to the metal rail part on the outside of both rails. It does not affect train operation in any way. This is a permanent, but rather sturdy and "very good connectivity" method. And solder very nicely flows onto the metal, rendering the joint barely visible. When making such "power feed tracks", straights are perfectly well suited, as they have this cut-out at the right place (where the longer wire of the original 9V rail connector goes as well). A little permanent white dot on one of the two paired wires at the far and close end makes polarity issues far less of a problem. This naturally also works on curves; in this case a little cut for a two recesses on the plastic underside is at least helpful ;) Best Thorsten Edited December 1, 2025 by Toastie Quote
Gunners TekZone Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 If one doesn't want to take the easy route, as previous posts state, and don't mind a bit of trimming and super gluing common parts... Just make your own Quote

SD100 Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 I would say buy garbage ones on bricklink and rewire them. But the FX ones are going to be a better option if you've got some patience. And it *shouldn't* be too much longer, as we've actually seen these in existence. SD Quote

No idea; it's always a bit of a guessing game with FX products. But I've had hands on them physically so I can say for certain a production run has at least been manufactured. Michael had a few wire products in plastic bags but that was preliminary packaging; I think the holdup right now is getting the products into their final paper-based retail packaging. I'm optimistic we'll see some movement within the next few months. Quote

Mine crumbled, my aunt and I rewired one, didn't come out as clean as we'd like, in no hurry to try the others, if these are coming soon. Quote
