Jameseh Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Anyone got any reccommendations for sets for a first time Castle'er? I don't know why, I've just suddenly took intrest in the theme. I have a 'Fright Knights' Shell petrol/fuel promotion set from years ago and that's it, and I have no idea what to buy. Nothing expensive though, like the castle, as Star Wars is still m main theme. Thanks, James Quote
KimT Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Go for every Castle set you can get your hands on Especially the new Castle theme is particularily cool in my opinion. Or go to eBay and punch in: "LEGO Castle" and you'll get a bunch of great sets at a fair price. Oh yeah... don't forget to buy at least one 375/6075. Quote
The Rancor Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 The Attack on the Tower is only £20 and it has a lot of features and good minifigs. If not, you could combine Dwarve's Mine Defender and Troll Assault Wagon Quote
Sandy Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 (edited) Why don't you start with the castle sets now available in stores? The newest sets have the best minifigures, overall structure and details out of all castle themes, in my opinion. Edited September 7, 2008 by Sandy Quote
simonwillems Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Oh yeah...don't forget to buy at least one 375/6075. I don't quite get the connection between this 9v fireset and the Castle-theme... Quote
dj2005 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 If you are fine with buying the current Fantasy Era Castle sets and since you are on a budget then I personally suggest 7090 and 7091. If you are looking for a decently priced base to create playability, then the Dwarves' Mine (7036) set seems to be a winner. Quote
Quarryman Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 As others have said, the Castle sets out now are very good (especially if you like fantasy), I'd suggest checking out the cheap ones at first, like 7009, 7090, 7091, 7040, etc. And of course the Impulse sets (5614,5615, 5618) are both nice and cheap. I don't quite get the connection between this 9v fireset and the Castle-theme... A Dane that messes up LEGO set numbers? Shouldn't that qualify for revoking of citizenship or something? Quote
ProducePrincess Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 the tower raid set was very good and has pleanty of peices for a small fort or a seige machine.i would also recomend some of the earlier castle sets like the crossbow attack and the final joust Quote
