When the list of 2009 Pirate sets came out, everyone went wild. However, on that same list was another theme- something called "Galaxy Patrol/Space Police". Rumors started to form- was Space Police really coming back? Since the information had come from Whung's list, most were certain of its authenticity. The rumblings grew until- some devoted Space fan made purple Futuron outfits! But seriously, LEGO fans eventually wondered, "If Space Polices is coming back, who should be their enemies?"

ALRIGHT! All of those who want Blacktron III vote for "Blacktron". If you didn't get the memo, that's YOUR problem. No Fabuland attacks in this thread- it's about what you want to see, not about barfing on a theme! (Darth_Legolis (or whatever your name is))

None of the above.

I want human vs. human, but both sides have cool mecha suits as well as unmanned behemoths.

The best execution would probably be to have a play feature where a claw extends off one mecha suit, hits a pressure point on another mecha suit, which then pops the cage where the pilot sits open.

Buuuuut if you really NEED a returning enemy, whichever of those lines above were the ones with a black head with (BEAUTIFULLY SYMMETRICAL!) silver robot circuitry as the face. Pretty sure it wasn't Insectoids, but...

In other words, you want more Exo-Force.

I sure hope Lego doesn't do that. Mecha would be great in another line, but I would like to see very little of it in Space Police. Anime and manga, BAH.

And I know Lego utilizes more play features these days, but I'd like to see more straightforward Space Police sets. Some kind of automated lock-up mechanism for imprisoning the bad guys might be alright.

BTW, Blacktron is most likely human, so they could fit in with you idea. That's what I voted for. Though I have to admit, having UFO as the baddies would be an interesting twist.

BTW, Blacktron doesn't have to be a different race, IMO, Space Police and Blacktron are both humans. But I'll add more features to the poll anyway.

I REALLY do NOT want Fabuland invading a perfectly nice space line (so I voted Insectoids)

Come on, have a sense of humor! Besides, most would like to see a return of Fabuland.

I'll vote mechs, with the clarification that the pilots re-use the ExoForce Drone minifigs in new colors.

It would let us keep getting those nice drone figures beyond the end of EF, save TLC the trouble of losing a mould. And if ya want, you can consider it a spinoff storyline thousands of years into the future, right?

I voted for Mars Mission Jellies =]

Seriously???

The Alien Commander fig is OK I suppose, though far from my favorite. :sceptic:

Anyhow, I naturally voted for Blacktron (although they would technically be Blacktron III). In my view some anime/manga influence would be a nice touch for Space Police, something like an updated Spyrius or a spacier Exo-Force would be a good idea, with a nice mix of spacecraft, mecha and ground vehicles.

Although I am in many ways a LEGO Space traditionalist, I know some concessions will have to be made to contemporary LEGO theme and toy trends for a line to be successful at today's market. So in that regard I don't expect a precise reboot of Space Police I or II, although recapturing the basic essence and feel of the old themes in a more up-to-date sort of way is quite possible and even likely.

Man, you can't use an emoticon unless you made it, can you? Yes, it is Blackron and Fabuland together- I'm hoping for the SP to be Fabuland- for instance, CopMike is the general  It's also funny that in that same interview, there was yet another reference to Fabuland.

UFO with orange and yellow accent colored figures, new colors of helmets, 33% less printed parts, brand new laser blasters, a new assault alien cyborg minifigure, and transparent neon orange canopy and glass parts - including a printed helmet and armor in trans for the UFO warlord leader.

I would be happy with a decent Blacktron III though.

My biggest concern in another green based Space Police. I am in love with the gorgeous trans red parts and I am hoping for its return. Green just doesn't say galactic space protectors like red does.

I voted other, Blacktron III!

Erm... I believe it was specified before that "Blacktron" held both Blacktron AND Blacktron III. Oops.

I voted other as well, oops :look:

Anyway, I DO not want Mecha in Space, I mean, We have the Strategic pursuer and ones like that, but seriously, the return of Space Police with Mecha... That'd waste the entire idea of Classic space and then we'd start to get strange Anime hairdos... I don't want Exo-force in Space... :hmpf:

Fabuland, now that'd be pretty funny...:sweet:

What if they used non-Japanese style mecha, like MechWarrior type mecha. And they could be supplemented with spacecraft, fighters, tanks and space infantry.

Yeah, the Exo-force Mecha was okay, but they're too thin, were's the armor and overloaded weaponry! :hmpf_bad::laugh:

Wow we need a Mecha expert in to explain don't we? Well luckily I'm a Mecha expert .

Mecha could easily be implemented in to Space Police III, Power miners managed it. Just because it has Mecha doesn't mean it has to have EXO-Force hair does it? What do people mean by Japanese-style Mecha? There a two types of Mecha, Humanoid which EXO-Force Mainly consisted off and the Walker-style which Inertia Posted a picture off and which EXO-Force had a few of like the Striking Vemon. If Space Police III Does have Mecha that means it doesn't have to be all Mecha they can easily still have Ships, Bases and Surface Vehicles as well. Anyway it does look like EXO-Force will have Mecha, kids love 'em as far as I know and as i have said countless times, Power Miners have one .
