Rook Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) Police City Theme has its own chess board! But it's weird. This creepy chess board bears deep under tones of Societies 2 main cultures: Mainstream and Counter. The "Black" pieces are police. The "White" pieces are criminals. Yet the criminal ideology battles from burnt out houses an old graveyards. While mainstream, don't break the rules, ideology battles the front lines between peaceful citizens working, relaxing, and tending to life's easy ways. An added twist: Batman & Spiderman lurk in the scene. Gallery Edited September 5, 2008 by Rook Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Wow, this is an innovative giant city chess set. Really very interesting, especially on your building structure on both sides. The pieces are very nicely laid out with their respective decorations. A spiderman and batman certainly adds in some little excitement, plus the onlookers as well. Do the rest of them have special ability in this game? Great job! Thanks for sharing. Quote
BlueBard Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Lovely chess! I really like the scenario surrounding it like good and evil one in each side of the city Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 That's a very nice MOC, Rook! It's a funny idea to have a chess with criminals and police men - I really like that idea. I mainly like the red house and the nice details which you included in your chess set: the nice additional minifigs, the street lights, the gate, ... Perhaps some flowers would have been good at the house that the house looks a bit more alive. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Skinny Boy Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) Great use of the phrase: 'Wrong side of the tracks' . I never would have seen batman there if you didn't point him out, he looks so well camoflauged Edited September 4, 2008 by Skinny Boy Quote
Rook Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 Great use of the phrase: 'Wrong side of the tracks' . I never would have seen batman there if you didn't point him out, he looks so well camoflauged I'm glad you noticed the 'Wrong side of the tracks'. I almost used it as my title. Quote
Guss Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 very nice chessboard , a lot of details, and nice choice of figs for the pieces ^^ did you play chess with it ? Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Very nicely done, I believe it shows order vs. disorder more than police vs. criminals, 'cause criminals can be orderly too. Nice chessboard, BTW! Quote
Adam Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Great MOC, Rook! I this were offical, I'd buy it! But Spiderman and Batman aren't too hidden... Quote
Rook Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Not from that angle. I purposely shot that one so you could see them both clearly. Quote
Johnny 5 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I like this, great scenery it makes it more than a chess board. Quote
