Zarkan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Well, I wasn't planning to start my farm display until the official farm sets come out next year, but a couple recent purchases drove me to start working on it early. So, here is version one of Uncle Grevious's Farm. Okay, so that's not how farmers really harvest grain these days, but that will change once I get the 2009 combine harvester. The final grain field will be twice as big, and I'll be modifiying the big farm set with some tan bricks I got at a lego store. The farm house will stay exactly as it is. Comments and questions are appreciated, as always! Edited September 3, 2008 by Grevious Quote
Scyzoryk Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Awesome! I love it! The scarecrow, the farmers, the tractor, its perfect! But maybe you should try putting a red seat on the tractor to make the colors match. Also I love the way you made those flowers behind the scarecrow! Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Very nicely done..and nice way to make wheat! Quote
Zarkan Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Thanks guys! By the way, the "flowers" behind the scarecrow are supposed to be corn stalks. Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Grevious, I am supposed that is an early start to get ready for your farm project next year. Your creation makes use of simple building techniques which involved in LEGO Bricks to build up this moc. This is a very good way to illustrate the simple designs which we used to have in Classic Town. I am surprised by the usage of 1x1 yellow bricks, to demostrate the crops. In fact, it's nicely done. The tractor is very handy for these farmers. Your tractor design, somehow retains the classic look which is very attractive in its own style. The scarecrow and the fences are some nice little touch in this creation. This is the first time, I had seen someone using lime green as their main construction basis, and it turns out pretty well, with brown pillars and black roof top combinations. I missed those old windows and doors. I am not a fan of lime green, but the overall view makes it very outstanding from far due to the usage of uncommon color. On a whole, this is a very good start, and I will be looking out for your future farm projects. At least, I will be borrowing some of your ideas for mine farm project too. Quote
zeki Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Nice and simple... 2009 sets will be a great addition to this farm! Quote
