Klaus-Dieter Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Hello everybody! Some time ago I "designed" some medieval citizens. Here they are: Medieval Family This is a typical medieval family: mother, son, father and grandfather - and their dog and a rat. I would be very happy if you vote for how you like these minfigs. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter Edited September 3, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
KimT Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Neat "minifig pack". Let's all wish for TLG to do something like it with some of the new castle minifigs from the Advent Calendar. I remember getting something similar to your creation as a child: EDIT: Could you please make your signature smaller. It's huge with all those sets in your wishlist EDIT 2: Faster than lightning response Quote
KimT Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I've merged the topics. Next time if you forget to make a poll, then either send a pm requesting a staff member to do so or post the request in the topic and we'll add it for you. No need to "double-topic" Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 A nice collection of peasants, but it does seem to me that they are a bit on the clean side, they could do with looking a bit more dirty and oppressed. But then that’s just my personal opinion. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Thank you very much for your nice comments, KimT and Cardinal Brick! I've merged the topics.Next time if you forget to make a poll, then either send a pm requesting a staff member to do so or post the request in the topic and we'll add it for you. No need to "double-topic" I'm sorry - but that wasn't planed. I wrote the text and added the picture. During clicking on the button "Post new topic" I noticed that I had forgotten to add the poll. I immediately clicked on the stop-button - but at this moment it supposably was to late. But since I didn't noticed that I added the poll - and then there were two posts. A nice collection of peasants, but it does seem to me that they are a bit on the clean side, they could do with looking a bit more dirty and oppressed. But then that’s just my personal opinion. I partly agree with you. I even gave the grandfather a very old and furrowed face - but you can hardly see it on the pic. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Athos Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I'll go with average. They're decent respectable figures, but nothing remarkable. The one guy is way too blue. I'd give him more variety. Maybe brown or grey. Pop his arms off and replace them with dark grey or light grey or brown and give him the same color pants. What torso did you use for the old man? Steve Quote

Steve Thank you your advice, Athos. Yes, a bit more variety would surely be not bad. The only problem is that the most additional minfig arms I own are blue - but let's see ... To the torso of the old man: I used this part. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Gen. Knowledge Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 I like your peasants, but think the father looks more like an older brother. Maybe you should consider giving the dad a face with some facial hair. Tony Quote
Adam Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Nice peasants, I especially like the one on the right. Quote
NewRight Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Some of them are nice. I would love to see this worked into an MOC. Quote
ptdapen Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 I enjoyed all of them, though I think the man and woman could use different shirts, plus the man could be less blue. Also, as stated by someone else, I think the man should have another face. Give him a scruffy beard! Overall, I think I like the old man the best. You should put these to work on something. Quote
Manta Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Pretty Basic, try padme's torso from the podracer set for the girl? That would work better than her current torso. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) Thank you all very much for your nice comments! I thought once more about your proposal to change the father's head - and I changed it. Since I put together some more medieval citizens, too, I'll show you them all in some time. I thought about doing a little Castle MOC in some time. When it's ready I surely will present it to you (but at the moment I'm working on a very nice City MOC). BTW: Welcome to EB, ptdagen and NewRight! Klaus-Dieter Edited September 9, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I like the package overall, however I feel the blue is a bit loud a colour for medieval times. Keep up the cool figs. Quote
