In the far future, there is an energy crisis on Planet Earth; Brickonium Energy Crystals that were once abundant veins below the Earth’s Crust, had run dry, leaving the cities with draining power, so the Space Mining Commission (SMC) was established to help solve the energy crisis, by sending a team of brave miners, scientists and geologists, out to the stars, aboard a ship known as the L.E.S. Kilroy (Lego Exploration Ship), to search for various other sources of Brickonium on other planets to establish mining colonies for future generations, known…, as the Astro Miners! Their mission took five long years, establishing much successful colonies and discovering new galactic systems, being able to also negotiate and make peaceful encounters with various alien races. To keep track of the places they’ve been to, the L.E.S. Kilroy would send a beacon down to the planet’s surface, so that the Commission could keep track of how well their mission was going. Eventually, come the end of the fifth year, the Kilroy was contacted by Command to return home to Earth, their mission an absolute success! As the Kilroy was just heading back however, it got suddenly caught unawares by a fierce Meteor Storm, badly damaging its powerplant, leaving it powerless from escaping a sudden wormhole’s gravitational pull. As such the Kilroy was flung into a distant Galaxy.

After the drama had ceased, the Astrominers set to work on checking the ship all over, finding themselves around a mysterious planet rich in Brickonium Crystals. After failing to get through to Command, they sent down a crew to mine the planet and explore and found vast amounts of Energy Crystals to power and repair the L.E.S. Kilroy, but they also encountered many alien creatures, most notably gigantic, imposing Rock Monsters. The team would endure numerous hardships to obtain the Crystals, but they eventually triumphed, and successfully gathered enough Crystals to return home. Six months would pass by, and the Astro Miners would return to the same planet (Labelled as ‘Planet Mysterio’), this time, to seek answers from its geography, and how it could bear such a vast ecosystem below its barren surface. Who knows what our brave team might find from their past encounter.

The Team:

Commander Iron Arm: Captain of the L.E.S. Kilroy and one of the best officers in the Space Mining Commission’s chain of command, Commander Iron Arm is quite the by-the-book sort of character, but also very competent and resourceful when it comes to situations whilst on a mission, which was why he was made leader of the Astro Miners team first and foremost. This as demonstrated during the wormhole incident was what helped keep the crew together and focus on repairing the ship and gaining enough sufficient energy crystals to return home, as well as at times to the much younger members (Especially Jolt) quite the ‘stickler for discipline and protocol’, as he did not approve of the young driver’s habit of eating on the job. Iron Arm isn’t however totally without feelings, as his name doesn’t hold no merit, given much a harrowing ordeal he had been through when he was Jolt’s age, as proven by his metallic cybernetic appendages. Six months after the incident with the wormhole and subsequent mining operation on Planet Mysterio, both friends were given orders by command to return there for facts about the planet far different from Earth, and Iron Arm did so, planning the mission to last an entire year or two, which he hoped would be more than enough to collect newfound information.

Geologist Diamond: An old friend of Commander Iron Arm’s, Diamond is skilled in Geology, having excelled at his tests regarding said subject at such an early age; He even got forth a ‘Student’s Diploma for Outstanding Knowledge in Minerals and Earthology’ at just 14 years old! This has thus led to him leading a lifelong career in the field of geology, having worked in surveying and studying various solid elements in the Earth and even on the Moon, mostly by helping in some Brickonium mines. He also at one point correctly predicted a grade level 10 Earthquake near Auburn Bay in Lego City before anyone else, having saved many lives! It was for these accomplishments that Diamond was chosen to be Commander Iron Arm’s second-in-command aboard the L.E.S. Kilroy on the Astro Miner’s five-year mission to the stars. Six months after the incident with the wormhole and subsequent mining operation on Planet Mysterio, both friends were given orders by command to return there for facts about the planet far different from Earth, which Diamond was glad to do, having himself grown rather intrigued about how the elements of Mysterio compared differently.

Nova Radium: Best pilot across the galaxy some say, Nova Radium is a speed demon when at the controls of any flying craft, like the Cavern Gyro Transport or the Hover Speeder, but able at least to get anyone out of any dangerous situation, as she has saved her teammates more times than could be counted! Her parents were astronauts since she was a little girl, growing up in the lunar colony on the moon with about twelve years flying experience behind her back. Personality-wise, aside from having fun when flying, she is a most caring, mother-like figure to the younger members of the team and is adept at making snap decisions when the situation calls for it. She is also Commander Iron Arm’s first choice when it comes to scouting ahead and surveying new planets for potential mining bases.

Engineer Maverick: A veteran, if yet gruff sounding, unscrupulous inventor in charge of maintaining most of the Astro Miner’s vehicles, Maverick is one of the best workers aboard the L.E.S. Kilroy, often seen supervising Jolt and Ratchet so as to ensure neither of the two rookies got into any serious scrapes (Which also meant Life and Death situations), and they for one call him ‘Uncle Rick’ which partially annoys him, but not too much. Most of his time is spent working on new inventions and brainstorming ideas to improve the team’s mining gear, and even gets easily distracted, sometimes to hilarious results!

Jolt: One of the two rookies and ex-race car driver, he always went fast forward without thinking it through, though he always makes up for it in the end. One time he won a race with only just a single wheel after forgetting to change the other three, which (Although ridiculous) did earn him a place amongst the crew of the L.E.S. Kilroy. His favourite food he says is Garlic Ice Cream, which he usually has when he's at the controls of his favourite vehicle: The Power Driller. This has however put him at odds with Commander Iron Arm, even calling the latter a ‘stickler for discipline and protocol’, as he did not approve of the young driver’s habit of eating on the job. But despite his faults, he is a loyal team player.

Ratchet: The youngest of the team but also the more level headed, Rachet is best friends with Jolt (Having known each other since College) and an average fan of extreme sports. In fact, he’s a record-breaking rock climber, having scaled about over fifty entire rock formations and mountains without ever once faltering, which made him ideal as an Astro Miner for his knowledge and experience of the geology of Planet Mysterio, notably as Diamond’s assistant and able to do some exploration mostly on his own. But he isn’t without a good flare of adventure in him.

Site Manager Sharpscar: Often the 'tough girl' in the team as Jolt and Ratchet would say, Sharpscar is certainly not one to take jokes quite well, since she's more focused on getting the job done soon as possible, and highly expectant on Health and Safety for everyone, even her fellow miners. Rumour has it that one time she sacked an entire group of men for leaving the mines without doing proper safety checks, and all who know her are sure to know what she's wanting from them. She wasn't however without fearlessness, as another rumour claimed she saved over twenty trapped miners during a cave-in using only a pickaxe and laser drill! She's not called Site Manager for nothing in the team, for as she organises things like any foreman, as its her job to keep the mining crew in check, in case anything goes wrong.

(Planet Mysterio)
The entire plot takes place on this planet. Mysterio is located in another galaxy, outside of the Milky Way. The rock below the planet's surface is abundant with Lego ore and energy crystals. Monsters made out of rock, ice, and lava live in caverns deep underground, feeding on the energy crystals. Other creatures like giant slugs, scorpions, and spiders also make their homes in the tunnels. Ruins found by the team suggests an intelligent civilization may have once lived on the planet. It is also discovered that whilst the planet’s surface was a barren wasteland, the rocky underworld of it all had several, unusual fluorescent fungi, moss and sap that provided an incredible ecosystem for its wildlife, possibly as theorized by Diamond to be the reason for how much life could be common down below. They even discovered that it had rare, rich caverns of Brickonium Crystals, some even about a mile high! Mysterio has very little oxygen, so the Astro Miners must build Support Stations to purify the air and make it breathable.
