rriggs Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I was in Poundland today and they had a mini camera tripod. The legs were only about 4 inches long and had a standard screw fitting to mount the camera. I had a play with it and it felt pretty sturdy. Ideal for taking shots of Lego sets. I had no cash with me (they don't take cards) but will definitely be going back there to get one! Seems like great value for £1. Cheers Rog Quote
Jameseh Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 My camera's so bad for sturdyness, so I'l be sure to have a look for one of these next time I pass. Quote
SlyOwl Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I think I know the one you mean - from the shop you mean! My friend lives in Welwyn, and brought in a cheap tripod to school, for an end-of-year ICT project. It broke before we'd begun filming Buy cheap, buy twice I don't use a tripod for taking shots of sets/MOCs - I find it easier to hold the camera in my hands. I do have one though, which I use for doing stop-motions occasionally. It's a bit wobbly, but that's probably because I made it out of an old music stand, with the top and middle cut off! Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Despite the lack of quality I might take a look at the thing, my hands shake far to much and even if it breaks I could probably fix it. Quote

Like I said, it felt pretty robust to me. It's not their own brand so I suspect a cheap job lot from somewhere due to liquidation or a cancelled order or something. Was cheap but didn't feel cheap.
