Will we get a full lineup of castle sets in 2026?

As I'm sure many of you know, there's a silhouette of a dark castle on the 31168 Horse Knight's castle box. I personally think we may get a Creator castle for the snake knights, but I'm afraid that we won't get any other sets for any of them.

I'm more hopeful that we'll get a full theme for the griffins and kraken knights. Worth to remember though is that the parts for all of these factions probably will hit pick-a-brick at the end of this year.

 

But please share your thoughts!

While I'm truly rooting for the triumphant return of the Castle Theme with a new faction, it's worth remembering that promotional box art doesn't always reflect LEGO's future plans.

I couldn't find the link to the image I'm about to mention, but I remember that in some official art (if I'm not mistaken, from the box of a Fantasy Era castle set, or perhaps some promotional art from CMF series 03), there was a map with castles, roads, and a forest with an elf nearby.

At the time, many people took it as a sign of elf-related sets, but in the end, we only received a few collectible minifigures with the theme, scattered throughout the years.

That said, I'm really rooting for new medieval sets.

I dont think we will, but I continue to stay hopeful for a full line. The black knight set releases next year I believe. So thankfully we continue to get something every year.

I forgot about that one! I really hope that we get some new torso and leg prints when it's released.

Interesting - I'd never seen this!  In fairness, it's possible that an Elf wave of Fantasy Era was planned but was never made due to the theme ending, since we did get Dwarves for the second wave.

Yes, I do believe that it was the case, as there is a "Dwarven Kingdom" in the same map, also in the bottom left corner.

Do you know the year the map is from? I think it's a quite interesting theory, and it's actually really sad that we didn't get an elven faction.

I'm guessing 2007, as it shows the two flagship sets from the first wave of Fantasy Era which would've been from that year.

I also noticed just now that there's trolls in the top right, which use the exact same design as the trolls that we did get.  So, I think it's probable that an elf (maybe forestmen inspired?) wave was planned but scrapped, for whatever reason.

Seems logical to me. All the sets shown on the map were released in 2007 and niether the trolls or the dwarfs were released that point, which makes sense.
