Advice needed on 42043 Arocs crane pneumatic hoses

It’s my second time building this, but the arrangement of the hoses beneath and through the turntable for the crane sub-assembly is a minefield, as the turntable always ends up with problems rotating due to the hoses. 

The instructions are really hard to follow in terms of what hose goes where. Should the hoses be bunched up below the turntable, or pulled tight and left loose above the turntable?

It was a long while ago but remember having much the same problems routing the hoses when I built the Arocs Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to do it other than trial and error.

Thanks, it doesn’t help that the turntable doesn’t turn smoothly even with the hoses removed completely.

The whole crane mechanism isn’t Lego’s finest hour.

I found my hoses to be slightly too long so I trimmed them a bit shorter (mainly the blue ones) to make the hoses fit better.

After messing with some lubricants, I dissassembled the turntable and "lubed" it with wax. 0 problems since then. It's really smooth and no longer gets stuck.

That being said, the hoses routing is quite tricky and you have to be very careful that they don't interfere with the movement.
