Comparison of the two AT-TE sets from LEGO. The original set 4482 is on the left, the newer 7675 on the right. Which one do you prefer?

The construction is largely similar. Main differences are:

1) Legs do not click into position - the large hinge pieces in the first set are replaced with elastic bands to pull the 4 smaller legs back into position and the middle legs swing totally free when it's picked up.

2) Top panel is removable on the first version, on the 2nd it's split into 2 sections, hinged, with a little carry handle right in the middle which can be extended.

3) Feet are more robust and do not fall apart like in the first version.

4) The addition of hidden launchers below the front panels - the second version now actually fires missiles!

5) Top gun is further back and now on a clicking turntable instead of swinging free. However I don't think the gun is as nice, but it is larger.

6) Middle legs extend further and have large dish panels higher up to hide more of the mechanism.

I like the new one because of the design and i like the old one because the back can deploy a speeder bike.

Still i will stick to the new one.

Even though I don't have either to compare, I would have to say the new one. It's sleeker, sturdier, and has a better interior. :classic:

The new one. It is sturdier, has more detail, and looks all around better, much like the RGS.

While the new AT-TE is far better than the old, I must say there's not a lot of difference between the new and old RGS. In fact, I'd go as far to say I prefer the older one...

I briefly owned both old and new AT -TE's

...then sold the old AT TE to buy another of the new AT TE's

Ah good bless disposable income!

The new one is a vast improvment

I still have a few issues about the film accuracy of the new one, even so its far more accurate, sturdier and a more professional construction

Not to mention bluish grey looks so much better than the old AT-TE colours

If forced to choose I have to go with the new one, but I'm not really a fan of either of these vehicles. I don't like the empty and unfinished feeling they have. The lack of floors is sad, and I don't really like the free swinging middle legs and rubber band driven front/back legs. I do like the double canons at the front end and how they are hidden and fired by the same construction. In the end though, this new one will be one of the first Clone Wars sets to get taken apart while the RGS will stay together for a while.

The same goes for this one as for the RGS.

Have it, haven´t built it yet.

Will make it in the weekend I assume.

Always nice to see comparisons and see how in develops.

Well the thing is, is that back when we first got the "OLD" AT-TE we thought it couldn't get any better, The new one by far beats it and I bet in another 4-5 years if TLC keeps their licence I bet they will come out with an even better AT-TE than the one we got right now. Anywho I really like the new one. It could of came with more clones though.
