The Penguin Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) Legend tells us about an ancient and beautiful land named Antarctis. It was far-far away, somewhere beyond the memory of our mankind.... People of Antarctis were strong and beautiful, they had no wars, no pains, no worries. People never died there and knew no sorrow. They worked hard to give this chaotic and merciless world Beauty and Harmony that it lackes so much. We shall never know what had happened to Antarctis, and only these ruins remind us of this eternal dream of mankind.... P.S. I know that it is not very polite, ladies and gentlemen, but I must say that the photo can't show all it's beauty.... I hope you will like it and feel what I have been feeling while creating it.... WhiteFang Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 To be honest, I like this creation very much. I can see you had put in some efforts, trying to picture Antarctica for us, the penguin habitants. I think this is a good try. Did you ever think of using SNOT to represent the snow in your moc? I am not sure if it will turn out well. Good effort. On a side note, why did you change your sig fig? This picture looks a little blurred. Quote

Thank you very much, WhiteFang! ) Well, Antarctica or Antarctis, it's for you to choose, it's more a creation based on emotions.... ) I think I'll try to make it bigger later! ) Oh, and what is SNOT? ) (Let's think that it skips me for a moment.... ) I did? ) I was experimenting with my avatar yesterday, but left the old one.... And I see the old one.... Is it still new - blurry one? ///// And thaks again for your comment, much appreciated! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
JimBee Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Stunning work, Penguin! I love how you made the water (ice?) falling from the snow peak, and all of the ice crystals. This reminds me a little bit of Ice Age 2. The arches are the best part! Quote
Brick n Brick Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Great job. Just wondering, however, where the translucent light blue pieces are from. Any info? Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Very nice creation, you can really feel the chill coming off that ice. The penguins look great! One suggestion I would make, is to swap the dark for light bley as the blue shade in the light bley would marry quite well with the white and trans blue Quote
baby Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 It's a good piece of work. The way you did it is fine and I don't find anything wrong in it. I like the translucent blue pieces of yours. Quote
JimBee Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Great job. Just wondering, however, where the translucent light blue pieces are from. Any info? Oh, you can get those quite easily. The light blue studs are mainly from Star Wars sets as lights and lasers, and the trans- light blue bars are from Star Wars sets as well, used for lightsaber blades. As for the big bricks, I don't know where he got those. Anyways, I agree with ISC, you can really fell the chill coming off of that thing! Quote
Brick n Brick Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Yeah, I'm wondering about the big bricks... Quote

Never thought of that! )))) Thank you very much, JimButcher! ) It's a pleasure to know that my MOC earned such a high rating! ) Great job. Just wondering, however, where the translucent light blue pieces are from. Any info? Thanks a lot! ) Well, to be frank, I don't know.... ) We have a very nice shop, here in Russia, which from time to time imports someuniq and unusual LEGO-things.... So they had these light blue bricks, but for quite a high price: 1$ each. ) Very nice creation, you can really feel the chill coming off that ice. The penguins look great! Sir Dillon Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 This is a nice bit of scenery, but it would fit more appropriately in the Other Themes forum. Quote
