the deceiving image of set 6824

[Operacion Saturno]

Remember Lego set 6824 Space Dart 1? On the back of the box you find this composed image.

 

When I saw this for the first time in 1984, it lead me to believe that the two sets of wings split like in a X Wing.

 

Saddly, I was wrong so I tried to find a way to achieve this transformation and this is the result.
