According to this article (in swedish) posted today in the swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet" TLC is celebrating 30 years (Yes the company!!) by turning some well known moviecharacters like Christian Bale's Batman and Harrison Ford's Han Solo & Indiana Jones into minifigs.

Intresting news that seems to have passed me by completely!

So I guess a happy 30 Years LEGO is in place!

Are you sure that was translated right? I thought Lego was 50 years old and the minifig was 30 years old this year. And I know there is a topic about the Go Miniman Go video here.

Yes I thought the same too first. But no, that is what it really says... Here is a complete translation of the article:

"Being a moviestar with classic roles in the bagage isn't only red carpets and tabloid headlines. If you are lucky you'll also end up as a minifig. It's the LEGO company celebrating it's 30th birthday by adding some movie heroes and heroinnes to it's assortment of minifigs. Amongst others Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones and Han Solo, Christian Bale's Batman and Christina Ricci's Trixie are some of the characters that are honored with their own minifig"

Mirandir you´re right, it´s wrong in the article because the reporter thinks it´s LEGO that´s 30 years old, not only the minifig.

But not for long though, I guess when I write this the article has in some magical way changed !

Check this thread, still on the first page here:

30th Birthday of the Mini Fig

btw

The Brick with tubes is 50 years old (there were a lot of bricks before the "tube patent", both from Lego and other toy makers)

The Minifig is 30

Lego is 76

OOooOOooOOH magic!! But your'e right the article is now corrected.

Somehow the meaning of the article is still wrong though. Or am I wrong? I thought most of those characters were turned into minifigs due to retrieved licenses... ;)

It's a mistake caused by a journalist not paying attention, and getting all their information mixed up, and then deciding not to use it at all.
