Found this beauty in a box. Unfortunately the pre owner read the instructions wrong and pinched a fourth hole (bottom left) in probably the most expensive little Lego sail. So question is, let it be how it is or try to fix it and sew it from a professional sewer?

Ah a cannon ball hole! Build the scene on board the ship accordingly?

I think the best you could to repair this would be to patch it. That would be the real life way to deal with a hole in your sail... Sewing it closed, would warp the shape of the sail, the stitches would have to a good few millimetres away from the edge of the hole, so that the weave held together and that would result in a crease in the fabric, that would look way worse than the hole as it is. I'd probably ignore it, but if you think it's going to fray more you could treat the edges to prevent further fraying.

Did you read all the responses on your previous thread ?

I doubt they read the instructions incorrectly,  as the instructions don't say to punch holes. I imagine they wanted a hole there to use the sail in a different way.
