Anio Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Greetings. It was 2 weeks ago. A day like any other day. I was watching TV, just like I have done so many times in the past. And suddenly, I had a vision. Don't you see it ? I will give you another chance to prove your worth. Here is your second and last hint. You still don't have it ? You still need to learn to improve your Lego skills, young Padawan. Look at the rear of Boeing #10360, close your eyes slowly, and the nose of UCS A-Wing 75275 will suddenly appear. Such a simple yet effective modification ! Maintain the style of 75275, perfect flow on the sides, nice taper, and pointier nose. The parts needed for this modification are available for more than a year. How on God green Earth could no one make that modification before ? edit : FlickR album : https://www.flickr.com/photos/anio-ucs/albums/72177720327793507/ Quote
Hold0511 Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Looks super sweet - subtle but very effective. So is that a Wedge 5 x 2 and a Slope 10 6 x 1 at the front and then a 3 x 3 slope wedge and 1x3 brick? Did you tweak the internals as well as I think there is only studs for the outermost wedges and no studs for the inside x 1s or am I miss remembering? Quote
Anio Posted July 26 Author Posted July 26 No modification on the inside. This is why it is a very simple modification any owner of 75275 should do. You also need some plate 1x3 in white, some plate 2x2 corner, and some plate 1x2. I plan to modify the SNOTed slope with slope 5654 so that the nose will be even more sharp. Quote
Hold0511 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Sounds good - I have your A-wing on one side of the room and this on the other - look forward to seeing the sharper 75275 Quote
Anio Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 Here is the updated version with new 4x1 slopes on the sides. It brings more flow, with a slightly concave shape on the sides. Quote
Hold0511 Posted August 25 Posted August 25 Looking so much better now - I have applied both changes and also trying a further small tweak - straight swapping the 6179 / tile with studs for a pair of 4x4 tiles or swapping out for 2 2x6 tiles plus a 1x4 across - so far I have one half of the nose using the 4s and one using the 6s Quote
