slam23 Posted July 16 Posted July 16 (edited) So my profile kind of tells my story: I'm a 52-year old neuropsychologist, resident of the Netherlands. Because my job is mostly about talking to people, I love building and creating things, especially with LEGO in my spare time. I always played with LEGO when I was young, and my interest got rekindled after I became a father. My Dark Age was actually not that long, because I (very infrequently, no money :-)) bought and built some sets when I was a student. I'm actually not that big of a car enthusiast in real life, but I love building them in LEGO (not the Technic ones, just brick-built and only the Icons), specifically the ingenious building solutions the designers come up with, fill me with joy :-). I do love other themes and sets, there are some really cool Ideas sets, and also architecture but I only buy those sets when I have visited the place or country and have some kind of bond with these places. What I wanted to share is a project I undertook recently, where I bought a CADA set. Now don't hate on me yet....it's just that they sold my favorite car, a 2CV Citroen, that happened to be the first car I remember from my childhood. Sadly not (yet) in LEGO......although the Beetle came kind of close acutally. Because it was in the wrong color (it should be red instead of yellow to satisfy my nostalgia), I already kind of toyed around with the idea of switching out the yellow CADA bricks with LEGO red ones. Of course I ended up buying all the bricks in LEGO. I'm awaiting all the packages from Bricklink that I ordered. Which made me pay for this set 3 times over btw (and added to my son's Star Wars minifigure army when I had to fill out some orders to the minimum buying amount), but I'm having a very good time with the process. Is there anything more satisfying to receive those brick packages, all the way from Thailand, Italy etc? :-). I just wanted to ask where I can put this story on the forum, assuming there would be some interest for it. Love to share and inspire if there is... Oh, and for observant people: I created an account back in 2014, but forgot all about it, so I still feel like a new member nearly 11 years later :-) Edited July 16 by slam23 Quote
