[MOC/MOD] Fondor Haulcraft

Inspired by Andor and bored of waiting for Lego to produce a model, I downloaded 2Bricks instructions for his model from Rebrickable after I discovered I already had over 80% of required parts in my brick collection. So here is a MOC/MOD of Luthen’s Fondor Haulcraft. Fundamentally, I kept 2Bricks substructure and reworked the exterior - as the studless look is more important to me than the play features of his original design.

I took inspiration for the rear end from the idea that was the Star Wars Universe’s James Bond car. I also incorporated LotB’s excellent X-Wing landing gear.

 

The front end is magpied from pictures of existing MOCs I found online. I really want to make the look more ‘patchwork’ and worn but I think I need to live with the look of it for a while before deciding how to incorporate even more colour.

I am aware that I am missing the ‘roundels’ (?) where the wings meet the superstructure and I would like to have a working access ramp. There is also scope for full interior. For now, I think I want to spend some time just looking at it rather than pulling sections apart to rework them.
